side mirrors wont dip on reverse

side mirrors wont dip on reverse

its been like this for a while. i was just too lazy to see what the deal might be ... any ideas?

yes i have my adjuster switchy thingy set in the center

thats cool, i didn't know the 2nd gen has this function, i am always fasinated by my friend's s430's adjusting side mirror function.

I think the first company to come out with it was BMW, we had it on our 1995 750iL.
maybe a fuse blew to that function, can you adjust the mirror at all?

You are correct (I believe). I first noticed it on my Grannies '91 750il
Coolest thing I'd seen at the time...now it seems common...oh well

yep no problems with adjusting it electronically ..it just wont dip.

blwon fuse .. hmm

. . . does it happen when it gets to hot like the auto-down button? NO probs here!

Prob. the switch, move it ever so slightly right to left @ center and hit "reverse" and see it if the mirror dips. The contacts could be worn. Check the fuse and then put a volt meter on the switch in the door and see if your getting power. Same with the line to the mirror. Thats a start!
