side airbag light

ok well this happened to me last night and twice today....ill be driving and my side airbag light will come on...ill put my car in neutral and the light will turn off...any one familiar with this problem?? please help...just a little worried something might be wrong

It's because you have something on the seat or if someone is sitting in it, they aren't sitting in it correctly. It's got a sensor, it's normal.

Or, the sensor is going out. happened to me. They are very expensive to replace.

If no one or nothing is in the seat and you see the side airbag light going on and off...then on...your sensor is dying or dead and should be replaced.

How much did the sensor run you?

Check with your dealer. The is arecall. I got mine replaced for free. Not sure of what years. But I got 03 fixed for free.

Yep, since the OPDS is safetly related, there's a 10 year warranty on it:

About 250 dollars, they paid for the rest (8xx something). There was no recall on it at the time I had it replaced. Sucks because I saw the thread GM#1 posted and there is nothing I can really do almost 4 years later...

No big deal.
