Should the PCV valve 'buzz"? What does the little dipstick measure?
I was just out looking at the air filter...going to get a new one.
Anyhow, I turned the car on and noticed an odd buzzing sound--turns out to be the new PCV valve that I just put in. It sounds like a bee and if I touch the top of the pcv I can feel it vibrating....
Is this normal? I made sure that the clamp was tight and that the valve was in all the way--no change.
Also, I noticed that little dipstick below the battery--is that the Tranny fluid? I saw 3 little holes on the stick one near the top and two toward the bottom (about 1/2 in. apart). The fluid was measuring about 1/3 way up that stick...have no idea what's normal.
Your feedback is appreciated!!!
Thanks!

i don't know why the PCV valve is hissing at you.
but for your tranny dip stick. warm the car up to operating temperatures. then turn it off. and check the dip stick like you would oil. you want the fluid to between the two dots closest to the bottom of the stick. just make sure the car is up to operating temps.

Thanks. I just got a new air filter--The old one was really dirty!
The car goes in next week for its 75 k maintenance so I'll mention the pcv noise to them then.
