Should I trade in my 99 C2 & 01 CL to 02 C2 or 02 NSX? Please help me decide....

Hey sup guys, this is my first post on this site. I'm thinking of getting a 02 996 or 02 nsx soon. I'm getting a lot of information from this site. Most of my friends have nice cars, like nsx, F355, F360, Diablo, viper, m3, and 996TT. I have hard time to keep up with them. Just last weekend, I got smoked by a teenager in a 02 Z06 at the red light (I had head start too, unbelievable). I haven't done any mod to my porsche yet. Thinking that if i going to modify it, I would rather trade-in my current 996 and get the new 02 996 or nsx. Anyways, whatever you're thinking rite now, please drop a line. thanks guys

I know how you feel. Right now I'm contemplating whether or not I should trade in my Porsche, Rolls Royce, Mercedes and Ferrari for the new Lamborghini, a Lotus a SC430 and a Corvette.

Decisions, decisions.

And me and my friends bought these cars by selling SUPER NEON BULBS.

I would choose not to keep up and buy a 1987 Suzuki Samurai.

#1, I think you should get the NSX

#2, I think that you should do what you want in the end

#3, I think that you should be able to make up your own mind w/o registering on a bulletin board to ask such a silly question.

If you're trying to play "keep up with the Jones' ", then get the Porsche. Otherwise, drive both and get the one you like best.

If you really have as much money as it seems.... you must be a good businessman. If that's the case, then the fact that you're posting such a question makes this whole thing seem like BS. Does your wife/mother dress you too since you can't make decisions?

I'll say this: if your problem is getting left behind by teenagers in z06s, the nsx most definitely isn't the answer...

Keep your CL if you can as a daily driver and shop really hard for a used NSX.......

Bare in mind that insurance on 2 cars is pricey. I was in the same boat as you. I was debating on keeping my Accord and getting a Porsche 928S, But decided on one car, hence the CL-S...

Basically, if you want to keep up with them (speed wise) get an 02 Z-06 and you can beat the Porsche and the NSX
(Plus you can save 40K+)

Who farted??? Oh wait... It's this entire post that stinks. :P

I'd go for the Porsche. Especially if you're looking to keep up with a Z06.

YMMV...

Make sure that if you get the NSX you get the one from Tamiya. It has the most detail.

Don't post bullshit and people won't give you a hard time. I don't know or care if you have money but someone who has 90+ grand to spend on a car with the intent keeping up with teenagers is a dope. If all you want to do is win street races, give me your 90 grand and I'll build you an 87 5.0 that will beat anything.

The reason U got heat for this is your question seems BS. An intelligent man who has 100K+ to spend & has friends w/ 100K+ cars should do his research & know what kind of car he wants.

This forum is pretty mature compared to many others I've seen.
Hell, I am 34, and when I am in my MR2, many Z06s & Porsche guys here in Dallas egg me on to do street races & top speed while my wife is in the car, I ignore them then they do aggressive maneuveurs on me

I enjoy my cars for what it is, there will always be faster cars out there. I don't need to race every body to enjoy my cars...

I'd love to know what kind of responses you really were expecting to get from your question?

I for one do not doubt that you have everything you say you have and can afford.

However to come on here and ask a question like "hey I'm getting beat all the time in street races by little punks in their Z06's, plus you know i just have to keep up with my friends and their spending habits, so should i get an NSX or a Porsche?" and then to call us immature, now that i just don't get.

Did we see this CL on ebay a while back? Why is it up for bid again? I'm sure there was a thread about this car with the doubt about the salvage title for theft recovery and Navi

I would trade in for a 02 TT but it attracts too much attention!!!

Yes, sometimes its a bad thing. I won't feel comfortable parking it at movie theatre, mall, supermarket or any dangerous spot. I live in LA area, and it seems like there's more 996s and boxsters than bimmers. So ppl pay less attention to them. Most 996TT and Ferrari owners in US want to keep them as a virgin. Why? It beats hell of me. Most Ferrari and Porsche owners in Europe drive the cars as everday vehicles. They get better with miles. If I own a 02 TT, it'll be my everday vehicle and I'll track it, autox it. I won't let it sit in the garage collecting dust. What a waste. So another concern is maintaince cost and reliability. I think 02 996 or 02 NSX is much cheaper to maintain and more reliable.

if you want to be ahead you answer is very simple.

Get on the list NOW for a Ford GT40. That car is so fricken HOT it's not even funny...

Don't listen to the ignorant people who say, "ya but it's a ford" they are clueless to the cars history, and the fact it'll eat just about anything (not modified) on the road going in a straight line, or turning...

First of all, if you're comparing a '02 Carrera and an '02 NSX to a ZO6, you have got to be kidding. The ZO6 would slaughter both of them. Another thing its like comparing apples to oranges. The ZO6 is a raw machine. It's not made for comfort driving like the NSX or the Porsche. It's built to perform in every aspect of a road course. If you want something fast I'll take a ZO6 anyday. You can't beat it for the price and the performance it yields. As far as reliability goes, I see it as if you can maintain any car properly it'll last very long, but the question is how much is it going to cost to maintain. Both the Porsche and the NSX are excellent vehicles. High performance with luxury and style. Although both cars are excellent, I'll pick an NSX anyday just cause its as reliable as any Honda. Daily driving should be a breeze. Another thing, I hear alot of stories of how common Porsche's are in LA, so for exclusivity NSX all the way. It might not be the fastest of the bunch, but it'll be the most exclusive and gorgeous out of them all.

Get the Z06...It will slaughter anything on the road except a Viper or Murcielago(sp?). My friend just got one and LOVES it. He has owned Ferrari's, Porsche's, and Benz's in the past.
