Should I trade my 2001 CLS for 2001 CLS with Navi

Gang I have a ? would you if you had the opportunity to trade your CLS for a CLS with Navi. I have a 2001 silver CLS and I want to trade in on a 2001 CLS with Navi however there is the situation with having to trade in and see what they will give me for my car. I just got my CLS about 3 months ago. I wanted the Navi in the beginning but they didn't have any CLS with Navi at any of the local dealers.

So once again any help on deciding should I trade in my car for Navi and if so what should I do to help me keep from losing a lot of money.

for instance them wanting to only give me like $20,000 for my car that has 26500 miles and is in excellent condition with spoiler and leaving me to try and finance a $27,000 with 34000 miles w/o spoiler.

Wouldn't do it... I'm sure the deal you'd be offered would be total crap. You may want to consider getting a custom job done. Check the A/V & Electronics formus. A couple of people have done this and it looks SWEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!

... or not to trade

You should be able to get a nicer nav (GPS) for the money difference. The Acura Nav does not have very detailed coverage
here in the Spokane area. Get something that is easy and inexpensive to update. You can probably get some nicer feature on the aftermarket units as well.

Since you already own a used car, and u seem to want the nave, if the price diff is only about 1k then go for it, if not jus get an aftermarket one.

UMMM first off, an 01 with 34k miles SHOULD NOT sell for damn $27K! I bought my 01 in March of 01 with 8K miles on it for $27K (yes with nav). You would do best either talking them down on the price or doing everything through private seller/buyer. Put a for sale sign on your ride and keep your eye open for one on here that is going cheap. for $27K you can get a '02 with low miles, navi, and if your lucky comptech headers and springs!

So, the difference is $4500...

Wouldn't do it in a million years. Get a kickass aftermarket unit installed and save yourself a couple thousand.

for 4500 bucks you can get the pimpest custom nav setup that will not only be a better navi than factory navi, but it will play movies, playstation, etc right out of the box.....dont be silly, its a bad move, just get an aftermarket navi, thats the best way

I hope you weren't late. I know what you're going through. If you're not a native Atlantan, the peachtree's can get very confusing.

I wouldn't do it. You could get a kickass aftermarket system w/ GPS and DVD capability for less than $4500. I've got a 01 CL-S w/o Nav and that's what I plan on doing.....

Seriosly, $4500 is absolutely rediculous. Just go to HIFI buys and spend a grand or two and get something that is soooo much better. Five grand for a navi is absolutely retarded. You could even have them throw a whole custom system w/ tvs in your trunk along with the navi for that money. DO NOT DO IT.

Tell them you want an even swap. The mileage should make up for the nav. As Barkley would say, "Anything else would be uncivilized."

For your barganing tool tell them that navi is only a $2K option and that you have less mileage!

Don't play into that someone else is looking at sh*t. If somebody else really wanted it, they would be driving it now.

Thanks guys for your responses I guess I was too happy to actually have a chance to get one in the car without having to do mods. The original look is worth a little extra money but yeah you guys are right not that much. My girl was like we could go on a cruise or something with that money and I'm like don't say anything else.
A cruise in like five years b/c that's how long it would take making payments.

ok here's the deal he just called back with $23,800 for the Navi and adding on the difference b/t the trade in value and payoff which is $3,700. they still giving me $21,000

that's a difference of $2800 much better but does that make it worth it still

NO-No-he came down $2 grand and will still make $1500-An even trade would be fair with the mileage difference; but since it's a dealer he needs to MAKE money; and you're paying retail and he's giving you wholesale. In a private sale both cars would be worth about the same. Navi is almost worthless when you try to resell IMO.
