Should I Get One??

hey guys. i recently have been in the market for a used car. i came upon this 01 CL-S with 86k miles and was about $11,000. at first, i really wanted to get it. however, i began reading up on this forum and saw all the problems that were caused by the tranny. the owner of the car told me he has never had any tranny problems, but took it back to the dealers for them to "fix it" just in case it ever gives him any problems. i was wondering if its still worth it to try and get this car or search for a different one. apparently it only had 14k miles left on the tranny warranty. please give me any opinions or suggestions about this. thanks

It's tough to say. What's your budget? Other than the tranny, the car is pretty solid. I have one with 83K for sale for about the same price. I had the tranny replaced and it ran strong after that.

No one can really give you any definative answer. The best thing you can do is get the VIN number from the guy and call ACURA to see what work has been done to the vehicle and at what mileage it was done at.

Thats your safest bet, Carfax is garbage, it doesnt tell u much

I haven't had any tranny problems with my 01, wasn't aware of the "problem" before I bought the car, but knowing everything that I know now about the car.... I still would have bought it and taken my chances on the tranny

I agree with Lord Helmet - Try to find a CLS with around 60,000 miles!

i live in texas. right now i'm stuck between getting that CL-S and this 03 V6 accord that i found on autotrader. the accord is a 6 speed with navi for like 18k. the only thing stopping me from getting that CL-S is the thought of its tranny shitting out on me with no warranty...
