I should be getting mine tommorrow. Good luck with the install Jake. Please post pics and more specific instructions if needed. I'll probably wait a week to do the install.

Ok the short Shifter has been installed, it went really well, pretty straightforward instructions were well written by neuspeed, + i found my old drivers licence i thought id lost that had fallen back into the dash!
but i do have some pics for clarification and because the ones in the instructions were pretty small and black and white

HERE ARE ALL THE PARTS YOU GET FROM NEUSPEED

HERE IS A PICTURE OF THE LOCATION OF THE SCREWS AND CLIPS YOU NEED TO UNDO, SCREWS ARE BLUE AND YELLOW ARROWS, CLIPS ARE BLUE AND RED

HERE IS WHAT THE HOLE YOU DRILL SHOULD LOOK LIKE

HERE IT IS FINISHED

I heard it hit the part with the shift pattern on it. That's what rob G said.

what's that mean? "it hit the part with the shift patter on it" what is "it" and by "part" do you mean the plastic piece just south of the shifter?

here is a link to the pdf of the shifter install instructions, same as the one at the top of page 4 w/color pictures by neuspeed, http://www.neuspeed.com/data/installs/66.20.38.pdf

the problem with the trim ring is that when you shift in to the higher gears on the grid it pops the ring out of place ie 3rd and 5th gear, you can slide the ring up and get rid of the problem but it doesn't sit exactly how it should if you do that. i have emailed neuspeed and am going to try and fix it myself tomorrow

How do you plan on fixing it. You gonna slice down the plastic trim piece? How else could you fix it? I hate how the silver paint on that trim piece chips like crazy. I already had 2 replace it once already. Acura charged me $70 for it cause I had to buy the whole piece with the knob and boot attached.

ok so i went out and looked at it again and took some pics
This is the position the trim ring is supposed to be in the normal position, when you shift into the 1 3 5 gears it pops the ring out of place, but not enough for it to be noticeable in a picture because it pretty much goes right back down after your in gear

this picture is what i came up with, if you slide the trim ring up a little bit it no longer gets poped up or has any problems shifting through the entire grid, it doesnt bother me at all but i could see it bothering other people, it doesnt hang over in the front it just looks that way in the picture, i really like the way the shifter throws and its worth it to me to have it like this
