shock sensor install hitch

Alright, the question is not about the acutal install but about the experiences that you guys have had with it. I installed it this weekend and it went smoothly. The only problem I am having is that I really have to hit the car to trigger the damn thing. I cant just tap on the body -- i have to smack it! Also, it does not cover the rest of the car. I figure for the rest of the car I can add a couple more but I am really concerned about it not activating earlier. Also, nothing short of a nuclear blast will trigger the second stage (red light). This is a problem because I wanted to do some crafty installation and install the first stage (pre-warn) to the horn and the second stage (warn) to the alarm.

Please help!

PS - Just put the mesh grille on and it looks amazing.... thanks for the info guys

Mine is set pretty sensative. If I "knock" the car it goes off, but it is less sensative in the rear. I'm not too worried though b/c I'm concerned with the headlights being stolen and windows being broken. Adding another one is a good idea though.....

Ya...you just need to make it less sensitive. Look on the sensor and there should be a place to change the sensitivity.

I have 2 sensors in my car .. one under the dash and one in the trunk. It works well and covers the car fairly equally.

Yes you do need to hit the car for it to go off but anything more sesitve than that will make it go off when somebody drives by with a few subwoffers.

Bottom line.. if sombody hits the car it will go off.. if they tap it .. nothing will happen sorry bud

I have no problem with the sensitivity. Mine used to be set off by UPS trucks. Changed the setting and it is fine.
