Shock Sensor Install

I was planning on doing the shock senor install on my Cl and I was going to use the instructions as specified in this extremely useful topic: http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/showt...threadid=50670
I was wondering if anyone is having trouble viewing the pictures? They were up this week and they are not coming up anymore. If anyone has any pics that would help with the install, it would be appreciated. Thanks.

Never mind, I did not see the link to the pictures in the user's signature. This thread could probably be closed, thanks.

I heard the most difficult aspect of the install was finding the right yellow wire to tap into, so I guess we'll find out.

Yes, this was the hardest part. I also tapped two wires before I got the right one. Mine was on the back side of the bundle. Good luck.

I've installed mine in about 20-30 min and never did one before. I didn't have to remove te fuse panel either, just got on my back underneath it. The yellow wire was easy to find in my case. Just make sure it doesn't have any other colors on it besides the gray stripes/dots. Some yellow wires have the gray stripes but may also have another color.

My biggest problem is trying to find a place for the sensor to go off. When I tap it, it works fine. It's trying to find a place in the car where it will go off.

Install went fine

Well I installed the shock sensor and it went pretty well. I did not take new pictures because between these three links, everything was covered:

http://public.fotki.com/novawhitetyp.../dsc00603.html
http://silverknight.clickhere2.net/sensor.html
http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/showt...threadid=50670

It was a little annoying mounting the sensor so that it goes of though. The alarm now goes off if you hit the window, winshield, etc. The only problem I have is getting the alarm to go off, if I mess with the headlights area. With all the HID thefts I wanted to see how sensitive that area is. Although, I think the impact of someone trying to steal the headlights would set it off. Anyone else experience the same problem?

mount the shocksensor in the front of the car or you can add another one there.

Yeah I've heard of people splicing in a second, or third sensor to cover the front and rear of the car.

I tried searching on this, but I could not narrow down my results:

It seems that ever since I installed the shock sensor, the memory seats and sideview mirrors are acting differently. For example, while the car is started, if I push and hold memory position down, the seats will move to either position. It used to be that only the mirrors would be adjusted, just from pressing the memory button. Another thing I noticed, is that when the alarm arms itself, it locks the doors. I am assuming the doors locking are just a characteristic of installing the sensor, but the seats thing is weird. Any insight would be appreciated, thanks.

The sensor should not do anything to you car in any way. Period.

Doors are always locked if the alarm re-arm itself.

I never heard anything about the seats acting that way.

I got the sensor from autotoys.com and I did not get the OEM addon sensor. I got the other dual-stage shock sensor for $5.95 or something (same as the one in the DIY pictures). I ordered two at once to save shipping, just incase I had to add another one on.

Silver - Are you saying that when the alarm arms itself, it also locks the doors? That is what happens to me and seems to be a common characteristic of most alarms. I will check on the seats thing, to figure exactly what is going on. Thanks for the response(s).
