Your pictures don't work for me.

As for the silver base piece, it has a white plastic piece backing/underneath it that sandwiches the boot between the silver and white pieces. Originally those 2 plastic pieces are stapled together. If you remove the staples it is less stable/structural and is more prone to popping out/up. The white piece is what mainly helps it clip/stay in place. Make sure the white piece is snug and not loose and when you put it on i clip the part closer to the front of car first then pop down other side till you hear it kind of snap in place.

hmmm... I think I know what you're trying to say i'll try that and get back to you. But yeah, the pics aren't working for me either in the post, but they work when you click on them and links you to the album on ACURAZINE where they're being hosted.

lol that's a sent diffuser in which you pour a few drops of scented oil. I didn't want to hang it from the rear view mirror being afraid that it might crack the windshield if it bounces around too much.

I need to find a better place for it...

I like TL knob but it's too light for me. I missed my TSX knob after i installed TL knob. I recently replaced my TL knob for M1 Abrams knob. looks nice and heavy enough. I love it!!!

but i think it had to modifield though to fit (like the threads part enlarged, nothing that a drill bit won't do lol)(quite a few factory knobs are a nylon type of insert and will make it's own threads the first time tightened down; i remember the wife's momo had no threads inside of it when bought, it's a oem subaru one btw)

Do you have to modify your shift boot/collar to fit the shift knob from the TSX? I'm talking about the heavier, leather wrapped titanium (or whatever metal) with the red lettering. I just screwed one onto my CL and realized it wouldn't fit the collar - maybe I had the wrong knob?

Where are you guys finding the '10 TL knob for only $10? It's $28.44 on acuraoemparts.com and acuraautomotiveparts.org Local dealership was charging even more when I called.

That doesn't look like the 2010 knob? It looks like it's the 3g knob.

This is what the 2010 knob looks like:

Will the 2010 KNob fit and screw up perfectly in my 2008 TL-S, the knob for 2010 is way cheaper than for the 04-08, $68 for my year, where are you finding it for 10 bucks? Online is $30 from acuraoemparts.com, my knob is all scratched up at the top, I like to buy a new one

On the advice of the board I ordred a 2010 TL knob for my 2004.
$42.61 with tax from the dealer. They are practically identical except for the stitching.
Also, the 04 knob weighs 132g and the 10 weighs 133g, but close enough... Here they are side by side.

That looks cleeeeeaan. Did you have to make any mods? (like drilling a bigger hole?) and did the silver part beneath the knob come with the knob as well? It looks better with it.

The silver part below the knob is seperate. I bought it also because I liked the looks of it from a 10 TL that I saw in person. IIRC, the silver part comes with the 2010 boot. Had to cut the zip ties holding the two pieces together and use new zip ties to put the silver part and the original boot together. The 2010 boot is way too small for the CL.
