shaving fenders necessary?

When I dropped my car to the lowest perch, the shop said I need to shave my fenders. What do you think? Was it necessary?

More pics here

Your car is really nice looking. Please post all the specs of your wheels including cost and where you purchased them from.
Thanks

i will be posting side shots next week, still waiting to get my digi cam back. the wheels are the trafficstars dtm, which is also the maya dtm but with a different centercap. the size is 19x8 +47 offset. there is no rubbing if you leave your camber stock. however, if you decide to correct the camber, it will rub, which is why i think i needed to shave the fenders. and yes, there are wheels locks on them. just cant see them.
