Shaking at idle, motor mounts?

I'm pretty sure I have to replace my motor mounts now -I'm at 156k miles and have never replaced them. There is a slight shaking and rough idle. There is no loud jerking when I shift into R or D however, so maybe the tranny mounts are still good? I searched the threads but so many of them on random motor mounts.

The Acura and Honda dealers have quoted me outrageous prices for motor mount parts and installation. I found a private Japanese mechanic and thought I would just buy the mounts myself to save money.

Where can I get cheap mounts? I'm not looking for high performance mounts. Many have said I can buy all 3 mounts for around $100 on ebay or amazon. Can someone point me in the right direction? Here's what I found

Need more info probably to get some more meaningful answers. Like, what have you done so far to come to that conclusion? When was the last maintenance done? etc..

If your car is shaking/misfiring at idle I would spend some time doing engine diagnostic, vs. buying engine mounts. They are probably the least common cause for idle vibration as they are under least amount of stress when idle.

Run the codes then do a power cylinder test. if all checks out you may have a vacuum leak or an electrical issue somewhere in the engine.

I'm sure if he had serious issues like that then he'd have surging idle or a CEL thrown.

There's no violent surging or anything like that. Other people who are not "car people" don't notice anything. There is a slight vibration, maybe not constant but changes every few seconds, but it's very slight. I didn't notice anything like this 50k miles ago. I have done all maintenance items for the age of my car.

The vibrating is more noticeable when the car is in reverse. But like I said, there is NO jerking or vibrating when the car is in the process of shifting into R or D. I am guessing the engine "twists" in a different way when in reverse and one of the motor mounts has more pressure on it?

I have friends who have Honda vehicles who tell me to just replace them when I tell them I have 155k miles and they haven't even ridden in my car! Guess Toyota doesn't have motor mounts that go this early -never had that problem.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a good cheap place to buy motor mounrs at a reasonable price? I am not interested in expensive ones. Someone on here has suggested buying them from ebay at one time. This is what I found:

Any thoughts?

New Acura Engine Trans Mount Kit OE 50810 S0K A81 | eBay

Any thoughts?
I've been running the DEA mounts from rockauto.com and have had no issues.

Just buy new oem mounts from an online honda/acura parts site. They all sell 25-30 percent cheaper than msrp then have a local tuner shop install them if you don't want to.

I would go with the XLR8 kit as well, its a great value and all the aftermarket and OEM mounts are too soft.

Are you sure it's the mounts? I thought I had the same problem.
Switched to better gas. Smooth as silk now can't feel the engine idle at 247,000 miles. Mounts are still good.

I figured it was pretty much the mounts since I haven't replaced them in
156k miles. I bought the car new so know the entire service history.

I think I have the same issue at idle. It's not the engine, I've just had a lot of maintenance done, including valve adjustment. I thought the valve adjustment would fix the vibration after Acura said that might be the culprit, but it didn't. The engine idles and rhythmically shakes the car. Most people don't notice, but it's definitely there. It's not a BAD shake or anything substantial, but it's something that wasn't there when I had the car new.
The car does clunk or shunt into reverse sometimes when on an incline (my driveway). I've heard that the transmission mounts are to blame for that. I had my front motor mount replaced at around 93,xxx miles after Acura said it was leaking oil. The car is currently 108,xxx miles.

The guys from Excelerate say their motor mounts are good, but that they actually can transmit a little more engine vibration at idle (than new/good OEM mounts). But people say the car handles better and pulls more responsively with them than OEM/other aftermarket mounts. I would replace all my other mounts if I had the cash. It's probably what you need.

If you don't like vibration your going to hate aftermarket mounts or cheap ones. The Acura front mount has a vacuum line and talks to the ECU to counter act vibration. IMHO I would not get poly mounts. I also hate vibration and any noises. I always try to keep my car running and looking like new. I also love to jump on the performance upgrade band wagon, but I wont give up everyday comfort for an up grade that really will not make the car faster.
