service bulletins (long)

i know there is a website out there that lists service bulletins, but it is missing a few things. i talked with my cousin tonight (he's an acura mechanic) and he suggested we all bring our cars in to get the following 3 things fixed.

1) Winshield wipers - the factor put some methane mixture in the washer fluid resevoir that melts our blades when mixed with the fluid. they'll empty our resevoir, wash it out, replace the wipers, and re-fill the fluid.

2) Molding around the winshield - tends to bubble up, and get loose, they have a way of sticking it back down, i'm getting a brand new molding.

3) Moonroof rattle/leak - all i know about this one is make sure you wipe up the extra white lubricant goop before you start driving, otherwise it is a biotch to clean off your paint.

The only other problems i've had is the damn seat belt doesn't retract, and that is supposedly by design, so it doesn't break the window!!! And I get the "hairy" seats, in which this tread is coming through the perforation in the leather ... i'm getting new seat covers this week since they are sick of pulling out the thread

I will let you know if I hear anything else, he said he drove a TL last week after some warranty repairs, and he could control the 1-2 shift, and it would not shift automatically (in SS) from 1-2. I told him to find the car owner and ask him how the hell he did that

Sorry for the long post, i hope this helps...

Fotis,

I'm pretty sure that 99+ TL's allow you to SS into and out of 1st. And then from 1st to 2nd...like you described? Maybe I'm wrong here but I think there are a few posts regarding it floating around...

Fotis,

LOL I think that would definetly require a software upgrade on the computer at the very least I really don't have any idea as to what else would need to be involved... But it's a dangerous area considering how many times we would be bouncing off of the fuel cut-off going from 2nd to 1st by accident LOL

okay i dont want 2-1 i think it is crazy that our cars will downshift into 1st when you step on it at 15mph... most manuals will grind the syncro's before it lets you do that. i'll make a deal with you, you can have my ECU for 1 month to work on it

damn i ran into some electronic gremlins this past weekend..

in my pops old legend 91, i was in shotgun (and no one was in the drivers seat) fiddling with the cigarette lighter pushin in and out and then all of a sudden the radio changes stations from preset station 4 to 8 ..
i was like wtf? hehehe

then in the CL tonight before heading out onto the freeway in a storm i checked my defrosters and
wtf? the button that traps the air inside is "on" and I cant get it to turn off...and during this i cant get any of the other switches to work cuz they are all dead!
nothing would turn on and only the air trap button is on..so I pulled over and put it in park; and only then was I able to shut that button off and then everything worked fine
checked the defrost, air, all fine after pulling over and parking..hmmmmmmm
WEIRD

when you guys wax/polish your cars near the sunroof area, does the rubber surrounding the sunroof "squeak" a bit after applying some pressure to the roof while polishing/buffing
its because of the rubber making a friction noise, thats the best I can describe it

I use to use:

But it appears that Honda is not participating any longer.

Got my moonroof fixed two weeks ago and no rattles since. The said they found a screw loose and tightened it. Also, at my request, they removed the pop-up wind deflector. That thing made a helluva racket!
