IMO, the G35 sedan styling isn't up to the same level as the coupe. It doesn't have any appeal to me.

Don't worry that is still in the plans for this fall. Maybe even a trip or two around Road Atlanta. The car ain't gone yet nor did I expect it to in the next month or so.

I vote for Scalbert and Allmotor to meet somewhere half way, for the two legendary Turbo/Super charged 6 MT CL-S' to get together for some track times and pictures, of course this would be one hell of a meet, and I would HAVE to go to whever this would happen.

Hey, a guy can dream can't he

Not much of a sleeper once to add new turbos, new exhaust, etc. Subarus get loud very very very quickly. And when they do, they sound like ass.

CTS-V looks fun to drive!!! What about a 545i 6-speed; or a used 540i 6-speed; those are hot!! 330 is too small it seems!

It has to be something Jennifer wants to drive and none of those fits the bill. I wouldn't mind any of them but I am making concessions here though.

I never found our previous E46 328i to be too small and I am above average size. Yes, there is less trunk room but we won't be vacationing in it; the Sienna will be used. There was adequate room in back for adults to ride comfortably on short trips, etc.

The flat 4 just doesn't do it for me. Sounds funny.

It's an unfortunate, but wise choice!!! My brother had fully restored a vintage 914-6 from the ground up complete with lots of mods. Car was really sweet. However, for over 8 yrs, the time it took to restore, it was a sore point with his wife. In the end, he sold it about 6 months after completing his restoration. Afterward, his wife realized that he made one of the biggest sacrifices in his life and has appreciated it since. He now drives an Explorer. And now he's into cycling big time...

I would take a real hard look at that M5 you mentioned at the dealer. Will out handle the 330 plus the grunt of a V8 .. I personally like the look of them much more than a 3 series.

394 naturally aspirated horsepower out of the box. handling exceeding the 330 with lots of room for modding .. and you get to keep your six gears ..

oh and I love the wheels

edit: and have you ever heard one? car has major bling factor .. oh and the halo headlights that I love so much.

Actually, after I thought about it more this started making more sense. For close to what I would put into a 330i, the car and mods, I could just about get an M5. And the M5 would still perform better too.

I just checked out some listings on the M5 and found that I could pick up a nice one with warranty for $50k. It is not like me to get a used car like this but then again, an M5 is not a normal car. The performance would satisfy me for some time to come.

Hrmm, I could definitely live with that. Now I just need to convince Jennifer of this.

IMO, I don't think this will be too hard of a sell to her once I lay out the details.

Good Luck. I can't see why she wouldn't want it, I mean its just a bigger, more powerful, more luxurious, faster 330.

I love the M5....I wish I had the additional coin to get a used 2002/3 one and then mod it.

I'll probably leave it alone. It does enough out of the box to satisfy me. Plus, my father-in-law and I may begin a project car soon so tinkering will be done on that instead.

With a good dealer & service department, BMW's CPO program is almost like buying a new car.

Maybe a '69 Camaro or a '64 Nova. Either way it will have a modern suspension and braking system. But most importantly it will have a build SB Chevy (probably about 383ci) twin turbo, intercooled and stand alone DFI.

Our plan is to make 1000+ WHP on race fuel and about 750 for the street.

The Camaro looks better but we have access to a nice Nova. Plus, the Nova is lighter.

Man, this has really got me thinking now. Why did the M5 have to be mentioned.

I have been searching on them and finding that it would be very feasible to get one and not touch it. Here is one I am going to look at tomorrow:
