Sell your old 2.05 NAVI DVD’s

For all you people who bought the new NAV upgrade, if you have a fairly new version of the old DVD, DUMP IT ON EBAY.

There’s one on there right now for 90-bucks that doesn’t end for 2-days.
Another two sold for 82 and 61 dollars.
I sold mine for 104. I was paid immediately and I’m shipping it out after work.

I really don’t know why people would be buying these when there’s a new version out, but I’m not arguing.
I thought I would share (now that mine is SOLD)

It's amazing what people will buy on ebay. I'm guessing that the people that are buying these must have an ancient version.

I think I’m gonna list the EMPTY BOX that my new version came in.
HELL, I’ll probably get 10 bucks.

Somebody actually paid 75 bucks for a copy of 1.09 which is the FIRST version that came out in early 2000.
Can’t get any older then THAT.

So WTF are these people doing with them ??

Collecting them for historical reasons (map collectors of this generation) ??

I've given up on trying to figure out why people buy what they buy on ebay, but there has got to me a logical reason for someone to buy ver. 1.09.

Maybe it's me 'cause I don't have navi, but I just don't get it

Good idea. Its just sitting in my room collecting dust.

I guess people with the really old Navi versions don't want to pay the $185 when they can get a fairly new version for less than half of that.

this thread is really pissing me off. so you foisted your old navi cd onto someone who obviously didn't know there's a new version out. nice attitude. mr selective moral high ground ...mr ' i don't listen to music i don't pay for' has no problem regularly ripping unsuspecting people off. Try being honest once and a while. asshole.

I'm not sure if there is a moral high ground on this. I didn't see Shawn's eBay site, but I doubt he said this DVD was the latest version. It's pretty easy to check what DVD version you already have, and also pretty easy to call Acura or look on the website for the latest up-to-date versions. People sell all sorts of stuff on eBay with less value then a working DVD database.

As with all sales on eBay (and elsewhere): CAVEAT EMPTOR!

Great attitude. Scam everyone you meet and if they don't catch on, it's their own fault. That wasn't how I was raised, but apparently this attitude is all too common these days. It's gotten to the point that I won't buy ANYTHING used anymore unless it's from a family member. too many lowlifes in this fucking world. i do believe everything that goes around comes around though...so hopefully these people will someday be on the recieving end of their own horseshit.

I don't see what the big deal is.... as long as Shawn listed the correct Navi version in his auction the people who are shopping for a Navi disk should know what to look for, and they will know EXACTLY what they're getting. People sell old shit on eBay all of the time.... as long as the description is accurate, people buy it. I'd say about 95% of the people buying this stuff on eBay know what they're getting... so you should cool off a bit since no one is scamming anyone.

If he was listing the 2.05 Navi as the newest version it would be a different story.

I'm not sure what the scam is, assuming he listed the correct version of the DVD.

$104 for that version is still cheaper then what you'd pay Acura for the same disc.

whatever.

this is the tip of the iceburg for this guy. i've been told by mods here not to talk about a certain situation in which I was the recieving end of one of shawn's scams. ...but I assure you this guy has no moral values to speak of.

why would anyone buy an out of date navi cd when there is a newer version out? i know he didn't volunteer to the buyer that there is a new navi version out, which is what he should have done. it's all about morals. if you guys don't have any then congratulations.

Dude, lighten up- He most likely posted the version as did others. If the buyer didn't do thier homework, then it's on THEM.

EXAMPLE: There are people right now buying used enema bags on E-bay!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...gename=rvi:1:2

PS: Don't try a career in sales.

I'm not sure why 98% of the stuff on eBay sells the way it does.

As juniorbean said, people that are buying DVD ROMs off of eBay know exactly what they are getting into. I just perused the various eBay auctions searching for 'acura navigation dvd' and not one of them purported to be selling the newest or latest version of the disk. They're still getting bids.

I'm not sure why someone would care what is being sold on eBay. It's a buyer controlled auction. The buyer always has the control to NOT bid or to low-ball bid. A buyer can easily verify the item for sale from the seller or call the company that made it if it is a mass produced product. If I was in the market for software or a ROM I would check with the manufacturer to see if it is the latest version. I would think this is common sense.

Obviously your disgust of this matter goes beyond the DVD sale alone...must of just struck a nerve.

No one is ripping anyone off as far as Navi DVDs go.

I think I also know what Zeroday is referring too.... but one thing has nothing to do with the other so to stop this going any further... it's closed.

Bottom line.. if you want to post your old Navi on eBay, go for it.. just be sure to list the NAVI version or Zeroday will come after you
