Self Oil Change, need help!!

What do I need to buy to do it myself?

So far I can only think of..
Pan
Tire ramps.

How do I dispose of the oil in the pan? Is there some sort of industry standard bottle or something? Does the car have to be level or is it better to be nose down or nose up (which it'll be on the ramps). What about the oil filter? I'm just trying to see if I should attempt since the Mobile1 oil change costs $60 at my dealer.

you need a oil filter wrench, or strap wrench, or whatever you have that will fit the oil filter, and you need a socket wrench to remove the oil pan bolt or some vise grips if you wanna do it ghetto style

put the oil in a milk jug or some shit, seal it tight with some duct tape. bring it to a recycle place or a gas station will prolly take it... NAPA also takes it typically, some NAPAs have a oil dispensor outside.

Here in Multnomah County (Portland mostly) we have curbside recycle. Yard debris, oil in sealed container, paper, metal, etc. Man it is so convienent. All cities should do this.

i bought an oil drain pan that has a little spout w/ a cap, so it's easy to drain. i just put teh oil in a gallon milk jug & like BC said, curbside picks it up. anybody know the protocol for proper disposal of the filter?

the filter, if there isnt a recycling program for filters near you... should just be tossed in the trash after its drained.
