Scratches on Door
Scratches on Door
I have 2 scratches on the passenger door. They don't seem to be very deep (you can sort of feel them) and are about 2" long. I am planing on gettin them fixed this weekend or next. Should I have them fixed at a body shop or should take it down to a place that details cars have them try to buff them out.

gvtire,
i would first try and fix it yourself.
i haven't had to do it yet on my type-s, but I used to detail cars in high school and college and we took out some fairly deep scratches with McGuier's cleaner followed by a coat of polish, then glaze and finally wax.
go easy on the cleaner until you see how much pressure you're going to need to apply. If the scratches aren't too deep, you may be pleased with the results.
hope this helps
