Scan tool says throttle is only 90.2% @ WOT

Borrowed a nice scan tool for a few days. At WOT (pedal to the floor) the "absolute TPS" is only at 90.2%. Shouldn't it be at 100% if i've got the pedal on the floor?

Also, at idle it reads around 10-11%.

Normal?

It might be a little low but that could be normal. I don't think I have seen one at 100%

Mine is like 92%... it's okay! Hmm... maybe I'll get 8% more power...

Check to make sure the throttle-plate fully opens. You can adjust the TPS to make the reading say whatever you want.

humm, would be interested in what the accepted range is . . . could this be a factor in why some of us have faster cars than another?

I'll have to borrow Mantis's tool and see what range we get from our cars at the next meet.

Well, I'm using a V-AFC II to check throttle, and mine goes up to 100% when I have it down to the floor.

no kidding... and do tell how you got the S/C pulley swapped out.. because there is no way hell a pulley puller fits in there without pulling the S/C off the car.

The pulley, new plugs, and maybe the FPR are the parts of the install the dealership is doing. I'm sure they will just swap the pulley when the blower is off because they'll have to remove it for the plugs.

Damn plugs didn't ship until today.

Did you find a good place to buy plugs? I probably need to keep a spare set around.

eBay.

$9 each!!!!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW

The next cheapest place is www.sparkplugs.com but they are $12 each. So I saved myself $18

The same IK22s that come with the kit. But my car had been running extremely rich and i'm sure at least one of 6 plugs must be fouled. So for $60 i'll replace all 6 plugs and be done with it.

They just say IK22, same as when I bought them originally from www.sparkplugs.com

I know Denso says to use the IK16s in the CL so the IK22 is quite a bit colder than what they suggest.

Just confirmed.... the IK22's are equivalent to NGK heat range of '7'. So, they are appropriate for FI. The IK24's are even colder, but might get fouled quickly (especially since I run on the richer side). My plugs are fouled...

Are you using the stock gap... or are you gapping them?

Okay i'll try that. They come gapped at 0.8mm out of the box (suggested gap). Thanks for the tip!

I'm sure they add a few horsepower. I mean, crusing around <170F is pretty impressive, especially considering the amount of heat the blower creates. Also, during numerous WOT runs the coolant temperature didn't move much. Only a few degrees up, only to fall back around 160 a minute or two later.
