At least there is some good news, I am 99% sure I know why the E-Manage test never got underway. Several of the pins were not seated all of the way. That would certainly cause problems with a bad connection.

I had a talk with the director of QA and they promise to do a better job with final inspection.

BTW, the other harness I had was sound with all pins properly seated. That is what I get for not brining both.

I remember seeing the dyno posted (mrsteve is a noob) and it was pretty impressive. I still have hope!

Oh and Scalbert, at a way to bust the QA director's chops!

Ah, the dreams of yor . . . sigh

I'm still holding out hope.

BTW Scalbert, did I understand correctly that this didn't have the 'reeds' yet. Meaning was this just a plate at this point? Or was 'reed' even something discussed in conjunction with RES?

Here's a little bit about what's going on under there....

"....The volume, when shaped right enhanced the torque curve in the split plenum region, but a special "flapper" valve resonated in the chamber in the combined plenum RPM range. The materials used were carbon fiber reeds from perf 2 cycle bikes, but it was how they were used that made the difference. Of note, during testing, the inlet horns were covered with screen to prevent ingestion of broken reeds when poor designs would fail and the induction vacuum would try to injest them."

If the original worked so well for Syncivic wtf happened that it was never released? And does NO ONE know where he disappeared to?

Syncivic simply said he didn't want to deal with issues surrounding the production of the unit. I consider that BS. But he seemed pretty adamant about not wanting build this for us, and not coming back this board.

Correct, it was just the plate but with a change from last time. I wanted to see if a very simple design had any impact at all and it didn't. I will be investigating this further and will determine if another design is worthwhile to try.

Yep, I was willing to sign an NDA to see if I could help get this to production. He never replied to several requests.

I inquired (actually nagged him a bit) about that too, and he made it abundantly clear on more than one occasion that he didn't want to do it anymore – and that included any NDA, license, whatever.

I never did find the patent that was supposedly pending (or whatever).

You would think that he would want to potentially recover some of the costs.

Did anyone actually witness the dyno, go for a ride in the car, see it installed on the car in person, etc...?

I didn't ... however, there were members that claimed to have seen or checked out the mod.

We're talking old stuff here.

Some names to search on RAdams and bioyuki.

Some links:

http://www.acura-tl.com/forums/showt...threadid=20175

Look down the thread for "UPDATE:"

In the quoted section SFLA Type-S is mentioned.

And here is the link to SFLA_TYPE-S

http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/showt...RES#post753222

RAdams I don't mean to correct you but the 2nd & 3rd dyno charts are mine.

The 2nd chart was when Doug (syncivic) dynoed my car with I/H/E (231 hp/192 lb/ft torque) then with I/H/E + RES (241 hp/204 lb/ft torque). The 3rd chart was with I/H/E, RES plus a 55 shot of nitrous (282 hp/249 lb/ft torque)

I know you might want proof so I just took some digital pictures of the charts that Doug (syncivic) gave to me.
HERE & HERE
Good luck...

I don't know

But, you'd think he would at least be able to verify what was going on and recall the events concerning the dyno. OR ... perhaps he wasn't present.

I've just left some breadcrumbs...

+ + Perhaps its time for a "SFLA Type-S do you remember your RES/DYNO experience?" thread? Hopefully he isn't under a order.

I haven't altogether decided. We'll just say it is in limbo right now. I don't know if it would ever really work and as such is it worth the time.

All I remember is that Doug (syncivic) moved to Greenwich, CT I thought and word was that he was working for MB these days...at least I remember reading that somewhere. Should I try and hunt him down?

I guess it couldn't hurt. But didn't someone say that he didn't want to involve himself in this thing anymore?
