Saw the Supercharger INSTALLED at dealer today !!
Well to make a long story as short as possible, i was at Niello Acura in Sacramento today and was dealing with the General Manager on a possible purchase of an MDX for my wife. We were talking performance, the CL.com site, etc. and he says that they are testing the Comptech Supercharger on a CL-S 5AT and would i like to see it Well i couldn't believe what i was hearing. Anyway he took me out to see it. It was installed in the service managers car and Comptech asked them to put 4 to 5k on it for evaluation. The service manager came over and gave me a few details. First off, it looked awesome stuffed in our engine bay, i know we've seen pictures, but it was very cool seeing it up close. He said it was very quiet and very powerful. Problems so far is on startup, he claims a "mis fire" as he put it that goes away after a few minutes. He says Comptech had not mapped the ECU or something like that, and they expected an easy fix. He also indicated that on boost, he can literally watch the fuel indicator drop, sucking down the gas. The car had the new battery, Icebox and "Supercharged by Comptech" sticker on the rear and also on the engine cover. I wish that i had asked to drive it, but i will next time i'm in there. The service manager said Comptech told him with i/h/e and supercharger they expect 290 at the wheels, the G.M said he heard close to 300. By the way, i asked him if i bought it and had it installed there and it caused a problem for my tranny what would happen. They both said they expect that they would cover it, but obviously they will do their homework with Acura before they start installing. He reminded me that they have done a number of NSX superchargers with no problems. So they feel confident in Comptechs products. I'll keep you all posted, especially if i get to drive it

I don't see why the CL-S S/C won't start selling in the very near future. The AV6 S/C is already on sale...go check out Autocarparts.com

Please take a Minox (or other spy camera) and tape-recorder for all information on transmission cooler and how 'bout a question or two about if he got the "Redline" ATF put in...
Heck, take him to lunch or something and get a ride there and back (suggest a nice place in San Francisco)…!

Do you think they will include the tranny cooler with the S/C kit?

Was the tranny cooler from another company or was it made by Comptech?

You can get a tranny cooler from most car parts stores. Hayden makes some good units.

I read in another thread that Comptech is indeed working on a tranny cooler...just wondering.

"Within the next couple weeks, we will have our own bolt-on kit ready to ship. It will use bolt-on brackets to hold the cooler rather than zip-ties. We are using a B&M trans cooler unit and the kit should retail for around $70-$80. "
who knows, they might come out with one, but ive heard rumors since late last year about a tranny cooler from them and none have surfaced, so i say just get it elsewhere if u need it.
