I saw the new 7 series yesterday driving on the garden state parkway, and i only saw the back of it as it was a little ahead of me when i saw it, and god that thing is one of the ugliest cars of all time. The back of it is absolutly hidious, the pics. dont even come close to realy showing you how ugly it is. Also, i didnt know they were at dealerships already, i had thought they were coming out sometime next year, but i guess i was wrong.

 

Its not out yet, its most likely from BMW headquarters.....from what I gather, if you don't like it in pictures- it looks absolutely no better in person. I heard the back just looks fat, tall, and out of proportion (and it really shows in person)- just like you said.

 

Ya, it prob. is from the headquarters, since i know that that is in NJ somewhere. Yes you are totaly correct the back is just totaly out of perportion....its amazing that the person (cant remember his name) that designed this car is the same one who designed the Z8....

 

The new 5 series also looks to be butt ugly.

Not too mention the new headlight treatment on the three series makes it look like a chick car.

BMW is turning there line too curvacious...and just plain ugly. O well, better for Acura.

 

Yes, Chris Bangle was praised for the Z8....and his new 7series may cost him his job (thats the rumor). The design isn't bad overall, just the rear is nasty. Look at how much taller the trunk lid is in relation to the rest of the rear, doesn't flow at all. Not a fan of the interior either, the center console is just ugly (looks like house furniture). You can build one at BMWusa.com now, it bases at a little over $67k (a descently loaded one is around $75k).

 

Honestly, he deserves to lose his job for it. The thing is, when i looked at the pics originaly, i didnt think the back looked that bad, but up close, and it is.....i think there going to lose alot of sales becuase of it....also, the spy shots of the new 6 series doesnt look like its going to be to good either, and the spy shot of the new Z5 which is suposed to replace the M coupe looks pritty bad also....i realy dont like the direction that that company is taking....

 

The tail/signal combos look like they came right off either a Chrysler Sebring or Cirrus and the trunk lid looks like it belongs on another car altogether. There is no continuity with the lid and the rest of the rear.

 

Is it just me, or does the center armrest look like you'd freeze your triceps off? It looks like the vent blows right on your arm.

 

Thats funny, it actualy does look like that, but its prob. just the angle of the photo.....and as someone else said, the inside does look like house furniture lol.

 

I agree, that has to be one of the ugliest BMWs that I have ever seen! I have never been a huge BMW fan anyway, but after seeing that I know why . For that kind of money, I am sure that something much nicer can be obtained somewhere else.

 

You know, the part that really sucks about it is that the car is a technological marvel on wheels, not just electronically, but drivetrain as well. That's why I was so interested in it. Its just too bad that the appearance is so awful!!

I love BMW, and to me, its an absolute shame for them to let the flagship of the company look so poor. BMW, please get a new designer!!

the new 7 is hidious and Mr. Bangle obviously said screw our beautiful heritage. Not only the trunk, look at how the trademark BMW character line is barely recognizable. The Headlights and grill seem to be on 2 diff. pages. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING!?!??!

The inside is weird, like a Starbucks or something.....

You get "hated on" not because you drive a BMW but because you're an antagonistic little snot. Also, you have to have better credit to lease a car than buy one since you're not putting much money down and the leasing company eats the depreciation if you default on the lease. As you've stated, I'm sure owning a seven year old example of the least powerful M3 imported to the U.S. is quite impressive to "the girls". That’s great if you are in to the type of “girls” that choose who they want to be with based on the car they drive. Happy holidays.

 

Hey shit for brains, yeah I can't afford cars because I lease.....I got the Viper for a real easy lease payment of almost $1200/month (not including insurance)- I'm sure you can swing that no problem.

I had a 95 M3.....like 6 years ago, and had a 00 Mcoupe last year. Don't come here and talk shit, like nobody here has had a BMW before.

We do like the BMW, a lot of people do because it is a great car. It's just that we and even the head people of BMW dislike the new designs of BMW.
