S2000 or Toyota Supra ?

I posted this topic on www.acura-tl.com and it got a good responds.
I am just curious to what guys say.

------
Just got through reading an article in this months issue of SCC, The Twin Turbo Effect. Its about a 98 TT Supra. Man I have always loved these cars. So being that the 97-98 Supra's TT and the new S2000 are about the same price, which one would you buy ?
** I know this being a Acura/Honda site the answers will be alittle bias, but I still would like to see what you all think ?

Supra without a doubt...potential is unlimited with those cars, plus it can be a collector's item one day.

Considering that I hate convertables, the Supra would be my pick.

Exactly! Before getting the CL-S I was considering TT Supras, I love those cars, but I wanted something new. You never know what the hell those cars have been through.

Supra would be my first choice, as long as it is in good condition.

If I couldn't find one, then the S2000 is no slouch!

60 ft time was 2.248(?) and temp was 65 degrees. No idea about the humidity. I was running 14.3s and 14.4s because I didn't have to wait in line and the car never had to sit and idle.

If the car is reliable and not thrashed then yeah go for it. My first choice would be a supra too.

thats better ; even if the car is trashed, it can handle it pretty well, and when the turbos go out. That simply means it's time for an upgrade

if you're gonna mod and you can find one in pretty good condition...go for the supra TT and run w/ the big boys...

if you want new and definite peace of mind w/o modding extensively, get the S2K...

I would love to get my hands on a '98 Supra TT if they weren't so hard to find. I'd have NO problem keeping that baby stock for the life of my ownership.

What is like 320hp and similar torque? W/ a six speed? And classy? I think I've mistaken the S2000 for a del sol MANY times (unless it was bright yellow), but I don't remember EVER mistaking a Supra TT for anything but a Supra TT. Those taillights are classic, and I think it's one of the most beautiful cars on the road.

Anyone know the stock performance specs?

Ah you all see what I see, its a hard choice. Both great cars, but have different things each car is better for.
But I made my choose, and this will be my next car (keeping the TL offcoarse )

Supra TT

I won't buy it unless it is stock, with low miles

A friend of mine has an s2000. It's nice and all, but if I would prefer a Supra TT in good condition. Just an opinion, though. No real hard statistics to back up my choice. I was actually pretty close to convincing myself to buy a TT through the Dupont Registry before I got the Type S. But, practicality won out... this time.

Supra for sure, there is more power spread across the whole range than in the S2000. Finding one that hasnt been abused is the challenge

I almost got a Supra TT 6spd in 95- one of the last 6spds that year, red/black- hot, the sticker was $54k and change (ended up going with a 95 M3).....should have gone with the Supra though.

What would I take now, well- I would be a bit weary of a Supra TT (since they are all used at this point)....still, a nice example is not cheap.

If I could only choose between the two- I would just spend the $32k on an S2000 and mod the shit out of it- how bad could be.

just got a 97 supra twin turbo 2 weeks ago. it had 15,000 miles on it. i just put intake exhaust and a turbo timer on it today. i was gonna get a s2000 but the dealer by me wanted 10,000 over sticker and another wanted like 2000 over. the supra also does 0-60 in the 5's and has a faster 1/4 mile i believe. plus it held .98 g's on the skidpad. those are my reasons for going with a supra. plus i love the targa top.
