i was merging onto the cross bronx expressway last nite and saw what I thought was a Mazda Millenia coming up behind me...
So he flashes his high beams and I pop down to third and gun it...
But then I hear another Vtec roar (I was like WTF) and it turns out the Millenia was a S2000 (don't ask it was 5 in the morning)...so he gunned it and started pulling away at like 100 mph...all i could do was flash my high beams and laugh...
Those cars are fast (obviously)...so I'm wondering if maybe a 3.5L upgrade with headers, pulleys, CAI, springs, and an S/C would beat them...
Just out of curiosity, how much lighter would our cars have to be to beat S2000's...

lookim in the altima sight and these people know what the hell they are talin about i argued wityh those people and they insisted that it could be done with the right driver, temp, and height, and as far as that person running a 15.5 with internal's he should be shot that is a discrase with that car. tell thtat jack ass running those time to learn how to drive and yes it can be done i've seen STOCK S2000 RUN 14.021 IN REAL LIFE I GOT A VIDEO

a clk-gtr is nothing to mess with
Personally, I dont know exactly how fast they are. I raced one the other night from a roll at about 65. The first time he got a jump on me b/c I wasnt sure if he was going to race and I heard at least an intake roar, possibly something else. The second go round was better...more of an even jump. Through third it was neck and neck, but when I hit fourth I left him. The good thing about this 6 speed is that I can run fourth all the way to 120 or so, and still have two gears left...I'll give him credit though, they are quick.
hey type R what you got under the hood because im sure if i had an S2000 and you had a stock type r all you would see if my ass end getting smaller and smaller. and yeah they can run 14.0's and faster, with the right height, sea level, driver and temperature, dwonload a 1/4 video of one off of kaza and you will see show fast they are!

woop's sorry about the sig mistake. but still even more you got a 6 that is heavy no affence you got a bad ass car but the S2000 was built to hang with the best i mean look at it a 4 cylinder pushing 250hp and the crank that's a ball's to the wall car. look no disrespect to you but meet an S2000 driver that's got a stick and know's what the hell hey's doing and you will never see him after 2nd you got torgue and 260 horse plus the header's and intake, and pulley's you will still loose. and im telling you know experiance those thing's are fast from get go to finish.

as far as best 1/4 time Ive only been once...however ive been to the 1/8th mile track near me atleast a dozen times...just about every other week...i concistantly pull 9.5's and some 9.4's ...i race ALOT and i only comment with my own experience on the cars that some like your self, come over to our board, and arguee against our car... i'm going 9.0 this winter and thats squarley in the 13's so what do i know...i know there's no, non blown,non nos,S2K that i cant beat....
this is me ,ya im the ugly guy in the comp blown 70 shot s2.. on our run he did not spray...the tires were stock but i led 2/3s down ,at which point he went by, in what seemed the last few meters, and ran a 9.09* to my 9.433

I just wanted to say that I saw an S2K run at the track yesterday and the bet he could do was a 13.8. Mind you also that this 13.8 was with a CAI and a 55 shot, so if they can drop into the 13's bone stock, then the driver is one hell of a racer

Don't forget that rearwheel drive cars are hard to lauch but with the right tires and driver it can be done. I still think by read those little bit of posts that stock vs stock the S2000 will win most 1/4 mile races
seriously i bet half the people out there with the s2000 can't really drive or they probably to scared to hurt the engine by reving the shit out of it...but i gaurantee anyone who thinks that a cl-s is faster than a s2000 with basic mods i/h/e will not beat a stock s2000 with some decent tires...both given equal drivers...i drive my friends s2000 a lot so i get a feel for that car and i know how do drive it...the only thing hard about the car is the launch after you learn than its 14.2 give or take alittle all day long...

hey no matter what you own there is always a car out there faster than what ever you have. Some cars setup better for the track than others as well as some for 1/4 miles.
The s2000 to me is a track car, but in the hands of a competent driver, moving the car off the line at 6700 rmps and full race shifts the car is capable of (13.8-14.0)in the qtr. Don't think a lightly modded cl-s is capable of these times.
You guys need to state the obvious and the truth, not stretch it.
I would never get on the board and say hey I just toasted a z06 with my M3, ain't going to happen unless the z06 is going in reverse.

S2K versus CL-S. The debate rages on.
But it can be very simple if you just remember: The car the applies the highest average HP to the ground during a given distance will be the fastest to complete that distance if the cars are of equal weight.
Equal drivers, do the math using the gear ratios and the HPs achieved through the RPM range, then factor in the weight of the vehicle. You'll find your winner given equal drivers.
I haven't done the math comparing the CL-S to the S2K. I know the S2K enjoys a 700lb weight advantage. I venture a guess that a S2K that shifts so he almost always remains in the 6K+RPM range will beat the CL-S to most distances, with the CL-S closing the gap the longer the race goes. My guess.
