RX330 SUV or car or new laws???
well today i spotted a brand new rx330 on the road looks decent but i noticed something strange. the front windows (driver sided and passenger) were tinted. Now i thought it was illegal to tint the front windows on an SUV??
Well i thought hey it could be some guy breaking the law like some guys driving escalades and tahoes with the front windows tinted. I drove by the Lexus dealership and saw 3 more RX330 with the front windows tinted! Now I know the dealership would never do anything illegal, so im confused now, is there a new law with SUVs and tints or is the new RX330 classified a car???

Since when do any tinting laws have any specifics about SUVs?
In New York, the same rules apply to SUVs/Cars/Trucks etc....
Where did you get the idea that SUVs had special rules?

Maybe that's a local law in TX. It's cool in CT up to 35% all around. Back window can be spray painted black as long as there's side mirrors. go figure...

But I think he's talking about privacy glass (commonly found in the rear of almost every SUV around).
The point is that the tinting laws are not specific to classes of vehicles.

no, it's NOT illegal to tint the front windows on any four door passenger vehicle in TX
there is a restriction of 35% for the front door windows though
most manufactures won't ship any that way because of varying laws from state to state (ie. Kalifornia)

Well, almost every new car comes with tinted glass all around. But it's very light and most people would not consider it tint. Have you ever noticed a really cheap economy car with totally clear (untinted) glass? That's about the only time you see truly clear glass on a car. Hell, even the CL comes with tinted glass. Isn't it a green hue?
