that'd be insane. Awesome if it were true. You'd have a car that could go toe-to-toe with 330i, g35, 350z for nearly 10-15k Sounds like something honda would do!!

That would be nice.

Just read an Autoweek magazine where they profiled a Ford Focus with a Mustang Cobra SVT engine and RWD. For only $70K out the door.

Sounds like bs, for one they don't need an engine that big for a prelude, would outpower the s2000. only coupe i've heard about is the s2200 which is iffy, supposed to debut in october at the tokyo auto show

I'm betting the only stock stuff is the body and maybe the interior. The torque from the cobra engine would twist the stock chassis to pieces.

And you bought one???

Zapata: I think ludes are more than 10-15K? And I also think a RWD lude with the CLS engine would run way faster than the 330i. I don't think you can put the 330i in the same group as the Z speed wise.

i saw this focus at a local auto-x. it was by far sweet but it couldn't handle the power and was going real slow. it bogged at low speeds. the only thing they had to do to put the motor in was cut an area in the firewall for the bell housing. rwd conversion with cobra independent rear suspension, cobra brake system, tranny. over 550 rwhp. the whole crew that made it was there. they had videos, slips, and a whole lot of other stuff. it was a cool car.

Just joking around w/ you

...But for honda it's about 1 out of 8 (accord, civic, cr-v, element, insight, odyssey, pilot, s2000), for Acura it's 1 out of 7 (RL, TL, CL, RSX, TSX, MDX, NSX) That's counting the SUV's w/ VTM 4 wheel drive into the total.

If you don't count the non-FWD suv's into the totals, Hondas lineup is made up of 4 FWD (accord, civic, insight, odyssey) and 4 non-FWD vehicles (cr-v, pilot, element w/ optional 4wd, s2000)

It's split 50/50 between fwd and non-fwd.

My point ?? Honda isn't making just FWD vehicles anymore. Adding another RWD (or AWD using VTM technology) car to the lineup wouldn't suprise me.

My apologies, what i was trying to say is if the lude cost around 22-25k.

haha...you're absolutely right but the next car that should get RWD is the Legend/RL. So you can see why I'm a little skeptical about this rumor.

I doubt they'll be bringing back the 'lude anytime soon. First: Because Honda is working pretty hard at portraying the Accord Coupe as its replacement. Second: Like heyitsme mentioned, there are rumors of a S2200 coupe. They don't need two performance coupes.
