RVM Racing Crank Pulley
RVM Racing Crank Pulley
I was browsing through my newest super street and I came across this ad for pulleys and I noticed an application for our car. I searched online and I came up with this. What do you guys think? Doesnt it seem too cheap because isnt the UR one in the 200s?

Just read the descrpition...seems they do not know what oversize from underdriven... Actually, you need the Crank Pulley smaller NOT bigger to underdrive the other pulleyes. Anyways, the UR crank pulley has more holes than this one.
I had the UR pulley for like a year and no problem.

you sure about that? :sqnteek:

I am 100% sure the UR crank pulleys should be SMALLER not bigger to underdriver the accessories pulleys:

Lightened Underdrive Pulleys
1) "What are Unorthodox Racing lightened underdrive pulleys?"
Unorthodox Racing lightened underdrive pulleys come in four versions. The first version is our Ultra S, which is the lightened underdrive crank pulley. It drives all the accessories that came factory with the car. The Ultra S lightened underdrive crank pulley is smaller in diameter and 60-90% lighter than the OEM crank pulley it replaces. All of the underdriving is done from the Ultra S lightened underdrive crank pulley.
The second version is the Ultra R lightened underdrive crank pulley, which is also a crank pulley. It drives only the alternator or alternator and water pump depending on the application. It was developed for the racer and for engine swaps. It has the same percentage of underdriving as the Ultra S version but is 90-95% lighter than the OEM crank pulley it replaces.
The third version is the Ultra SS lightened underdrive pulley set. The Ultra SS lightened underdrive pulley kit comes with the Ultra S crank pulley and our Ultra A accessory pulleys for the alternator, power steering, and water pump (depending on your application). The Ultra SS lightened underdrive pulley kit has no more underdrive than the Ultra S lightened underdrive crank pulley, meaning you will have no electrical, cooling, or power steering problems. The a/c is still driven from the crank pulley in the Ultra SS kits so don’t think it has to be removed or can’t be used.
The fourth version is the Ultra A accessory pulleys. The Ultra A accessory pulleys are what make up our Ultra SS kits, but more importantly they are available individually for owners who have already purchased our Ultra S lightened underdrive crank pulley and now want the Ultra A accessory pulleys to finish their pulley set.
Unorthodox Racing lightened pulleys underdrive the accessories by changing the diameter of the crank/eccentric shaft (main) pulley. We underdrive the accessories with the Ultra S crank pulley in order to maximize the weight loss versus the OEM crank pulley. Underdriving also allows us to reduce the drain of each of the accessories off the crankshaft.
2) "How do Unorthodox Racing pulleys give me more power?"
Weight loss is the most critical factor in HP production, each lb. of mass taken off the crank/eccentric shaft is worth approximately 2.7 HP and the figure increases with forced induction, nitrous, VTEC and increased RPM's. Only 15-20% of the gains seen from our pulleys comes from the underdriving. We achieve the maximum gain for each application/model by the singular use or combination of reduced diameter ("underdriving") and weight loss versus the OEM crank pulley/s. This principle allows us to maximize the HP gain without causing any adverse effects in the general function of the vehicle.
The diameter of each of our crank pulleys is reduced specifically (from 20-30%) to the vehicles accessory needs. In other words we maintain all accessory minimums: air conditioning efficiency, power steering feel, and voltage (minimum allowable voltage 12v) even at idle with everything electrical on in the car. There are no adverse effects from the use of our pulleys whether Ultra S, Ultra R, or Ultra SS pulley sets are used. Bolt them on and forget about them, then just follow your vehicles normal maintenance schedule.

I like UR. About 6 years ago when they were starting as a company, they sent me a free pulley for my Civic drag-car... worked very well. Since then their products have obviously improved.... and is viable in this performance-driven market.
I don't believe in the crank pulley, but if you do want one...pay the extra $20-40 and get a company that has tested it. I mean your hoping UR understands that a certain amount of weight is still necessary for the crank pulley. Whereas maybe these guys copied their designs...and just got a company in Taiwan or the PIs to copy it, ie no quality control.
rougher? mine idled smoother than ever...i've been harping on this but there's a TSB on our motor mounts...and when i had mine bad there was a resonance at idle the rear mount had the rubber top completly tourn away from the body of it
