i just finished waxing and polishing my car and noticed on the inside of the trunk....by the water passageway on the right, looks like some paint came off and i can see rust colored metal at the bottom....probably a little smaller than a dime...maybe half of a dime. definitely the color is rust colored. i was wondering if this is the color of the metal under or is the metal starting to rust. is there anyway i can remove it (the rust) and put touch up paint over it? i'm just worried it might get worse!! i haven't even made my first monthly payment on this damn car yet. i guess i should take it back to the dealer and have them fix it, huh! advice...please!!!

 

That's what the warranty is for. Acura will fix it. Don't sweat it!!

 

I'd get in there with some FINE sandpaper and sand the rust away, then hit it with some primer paint, then the factory touchup paint. DON't let this go unnoticed!!!!It WILL haunt you 2-4 years down the road!

 

When the mofo stole my S embleum a while back I had rust form where the embleum was, And acura repainted it for me.

well, i took my car to the dealership where i bought it from.....showed them the rust. i also noticed some rust on the edge of the trunk door. they said they'd have to take to they're body shop and have it repainted. might take several days! bummer! a day without my baby is long enough....what more several days!! oh well....might as well have it done, right! i hope they do a good job and NO over spray!
