Running/parking lights
Running/parking lights
I've got a 2002 3.2TL. My right front parking light got hit with a rock and cracked. How do I get at the light so that I can replace it? I know I've got to come in from underneath, but there's a dustcover that's blocking me from accessing the light. There's a couple of plastic compression screws, or whatever they're called, that appear to be holding the cover in place, but I'm reluctant to tug too hard for fear of breaking something. Thanks.
As far as the compression screws holding that plastic piece that runs the width of the car from left to right, just take a flat head screwdriver and pull em out. Be sure to pop up the top and then remove the base. Should be no problem.

Thanks for the reply, but I'm not getting it...a little thick, here.
From underneath, right below the running light there is a flexible access panel that is held in a closed position by these so-called plastic compression screws. The screws don't screw in or out. They have several flanges (8-10) that hold the panel closed. I'm fairly sure that the panel does not extend across the full width of the front end. There is a separate section for each light. Anyway, whether it extends across or not, the issue is with the screws and how to pop them loose. If you mean to say place the flathead under the head of the screw and pop it, I guess I could try it. But because the screw extends thru the panel for about 1.5", it's going to be tough to pop it free. I'll take another look at it.
Thanks again. r.s.

Wait don't go prying screws out just yet cuz now i'm not 100% sure where your talking about. You have a TL so are you talking about the foglights or the lights in the headlight housing?
Did ya try and post a message on Acura-TL.com?

Of course..I'm in the wrong forum. Didn't realize there was a separate TL site. For the record, I was talking about my TL's foglights, not running/parking lights. The foglights are supposedly accessed from underneath, therein my dilemma...figuring out how to get at it. Thanks for you patience and vigilance. r.s.
