RUMOR: CL will be gone in '04?

Hey Guys -

I just came back from the Acura dealership for maintenance. While waiting, I was talking to a couple of dealers and they mentioned that Acura plans to stop production on our CLs after this year. They said Acura "didn't see a future for 2 door coupes."

Has anyone else heard anything about this, or can confirm that this is true?

That would suck.

This is really old news and has been beat to death on this forum. Production stopped this month for the CL. But, who knows... they stopped production for the CL once before and brought it back. It's possible Acura may do it again under the same or maybe different name in '05.

IMO, coupes are harder sellers today for the mass market when sedans have similar lines and performance at a similar cost. But the sedans have more utility.

If my blower might transplant onto the upcoming TL I may consider trading.

Interesting.....mine just left the factory on June 14th....scheduled to arrive at the dealer Monday (June 23rd). I wonder if it they are stopping production at the end of the month, or if mine was truely one of the last ones off the assembly line.

Autoweek had a news release a couple issues ago that the Acural CL was officially going out of production. It did not give an exact date. Was I the only one that saw that article?
