anyone can tell me what's going on with my car. when i drive and stop my RPM go dead and the car shut off, if i rev my car, and the rpm come back down and dead and car shut off. When i start my car, somtimes the RPM stick for couple of sec, before it goes up on normal idle position.

There was a recent thread about this, I think it was the Throttle body being dirty.

Maybe Scarlbert can shed light on this.

 

Throttle posistion sensor. There is a screw on the throttle body that needs adjusted. This has happened to me twice in the past 4 weeks. I took it in the first time and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. They hooked it up to some scan tool (not the standard OBD-II) and said everything looked normal. It was fine for another 3 weeks and then it happed a like 10 days ago.


EDIT: Are you supercharged? I believe smitty, scalbert, and chaptorial all had this problem as well.

This isn't like what happened with me though. I only had a rough idle but the rpms never moved and the car never shut off like that.

 

The dealership is replacing my throttle body, as I type this, for a very similar problem that I had...

 

Happened to me again today. Car wouldn't start for about 20 minutes. I didn't have a chance to get to the dealership today, maybe tomorrow afternoon.
