rotors - under warranty?
I called my dealer since my rotors are really getting warped. It's annoying, believe me.
They told me they are only covered under my warranty if they can prove that there was a problem with my brake system, causing the warping. They said that if it's simply warped because of normal usage, that the rotors will not be covered under warranty...
What a piece of sh** that guy was...

that tsb doesn't mean all rotors are covered covered. there has to less than a certain amount of wear on the brake pads...after that its normal wear and tear.
I have 44k on my 01 cls and I tried two dealers, neither one would cover it. I had to pay to have them cut.

Acura and the dealers must think that they can get away w/ that lame excuse everytime. Its been hella years now and they still won't budge...assholes. Yes, the rotors/pad are wear and tear but we've all experienced the shitty brake quality at one point and they (the dealers) thought we all drove our cars like we were autocrossing or something. I think it would be funny if someone blew up the TSB and used it as a sunshield when they brought the car in for service

Took my car in for a oil change. 01 cl-p w/nav 60k. sales rep kimmy (great guy) asked if any thing else was needing looked at. I told him the alarm pad didn't work.(jumped in pool) and the wheel was shaking when braking.(hard braking 120-45mph) came back after work new rotors, pads, and 2 new alarm pads. all for the price of a oil change. when i asked why so cheap he simply siad "you wipe my ass and i'll wipe yours" What he ment by that was when i bought the car in 01 i swore i would feed the whole front office twice a year for the next 4 years. needless to say i stuck to my word. my wife is a gm at a eating establishment (can't say whare) all 4 years cost me $0. past 9 oil changes 6 were free. point is how cool are you with the people at the dealer. you never know.

I'd rather give away some free food in exchange for free brakes out of warranty than pay the $290 I paid last week to fix brakes that IMO should have been covered under warranty.

Make friends with the people in your service department. I get a loner every time I go in for service and I bought my car used at a Lincoln Mercury lot. A little kindness goes a long way in some cases.

justin.cl and scotty...wait till you've had to replace your rotors/pads more than 3 or 4 times and see if the dealer will still be your friend when they deny you warranty service. Sometimes the only way to get things done is to be an asshole. Ask anyone who's had to go that route. Its very frustrating. that's just my

I called the dealer today finally. They will "inspect" the brakes. If they find that there is nothing unusual and that they see that its simply normal wear, they will charge me 20$ for the inspection!!! can you believe that?
Damn. Anyways, I'm bringing a printed copy of that TSB and i'll be flashing it in their faces if I experience any problems.
Anymore suggestions?

Interesting... I had mine resurfaced at 44k and replaced at 51k. Both underwarranty. Acura dealers warranty their service work for 12 months/12k miles. They warped again in under 8k miles in about 3 months so they just went ahead and replaced the rotors and pads. Warp free and I'm at 71k.
The only time I have a vibration is when i'm going real fast, like 100+ and attempt to slow the car. I always feel a vibration when I begin to slow down after the 1/4 mile.

/\ Mine warped in less than a month from having front\rears resurfaced at PAA with new pads. The dealer I bought my car from is an hour away, PAA is 2 hours away. I drive an extra hour to have PAA work on the car .. I dont feel like taking that drive everytime my brakes shit out on me again.
I'll just have them do the swap for the Rotora's and axxis ultimates.

I'm bringing my car in on monday. Monday, I'll know if they will replace it under warranty. if they don't, I'll just never go back to that dealership and go for the rotoras rotors group buy....
Can anyone with thoses rotors tell me how they perform? Do they warp easily?
