Rotora rotors warped w/ hawk hps pads

I have had these Rotora Slotted Rotors and HAWK HPS Pads a lil over 30K. My driver side rotor has a circular groove arond the middle of the rotor, but my passenger side rotor is fine. When i brake at high speeds, the car shakes and yes yes I know it is warped from all the threads here. But I thought these rotors were great from all the recommendations from all of the members here. I checked my brake pads and they have lots of meat left but then whenever I brake I get that screeching sound as if I have no brake pad left, but I have tons left. I know that I probably have to change the rotor, but can anyone come up with an explanation? Maybe the pads are too hard for the rotor and caused that circular groove, should i just stick to EBC rotors because I know that those are made in England, which should be better than CHina.

Some other pertinent information:
I don't use a torque wrench to tighten or loosen my lug nuts, but I don't tighten it too hard. I just tighten it until the nuts are firm and then give it a extra little tug.

It's isn't the rotors or the pads. It's the heavy ass FWD CLS with undersized brakes. You got 30K out of them before warpage. That's very good.
A lot of it has to do with your driving. This is why some warp differently.

I had the exact same setup and at about 20k miles i also got a groove in the rotor. I thought I was down to the metal but no it was the nature of the hard hawk pad. Its prety bad when the pad is hard enough to groove the rotor before you even have the chance to warp them. My suggestion is not to use this combo hawk and rotora slotted.

On a fresh note: Powerslot slotted and EBC red stuff seem to..... wow after break in this stuff works well and no hint of fadeing, glazing, or grooves. for what it is worth.

I have this exact same setup for about 10k now. I get a odd screech now and then when breaking. Its heard right before the car comes to a full stop. Its pretty inconsistent too. It happens every time I brake or not at all, light pressure or hard pressure no difference, wtf? Should I consider different pads? I am pretty rough with my brakes and these things do stop really hard. Other than the noise they have been great thus far.

ROTORA rotors aren't made in China.

However, just FYI pads are the major cause of brake noise, not rotors. If you have Hawk HPS pads they are ferro-carbon (semi-metallic). While they have great bite they can be a little noisy and can be a little dusty. Hawk ceramic pads are a little more aggressive on the rotor but ceramics usually work best on Honda vehicles.

Don't ceramic pads screech under heavy braking?

I've heard from a couple mechanics that ceramic pads are actually harsher on rotors than semi-metallic. One example, Frozen Rotors stopped recommending ceramic with their rotors and only Hawk HPS.

Have you guys heard anything similar? Or is it just the old thing of...everyone has different opinions.

Did you take a look at the pads and see how low they are? At that mileage you might be due for some new pads.

yes

Yes I just looked at my brake pads and I still have plenty of material left. It must be the HAWK HPS pads that these other members have and have the same problem as I do. I guess I will have to get new rotors and pads, just not HAWK HPS pads, maybe I'll get EBC Greenstuff pads. Hope those pads are not as harsh as the HAWK HPS pads.
