Rock chip and potential rust?

Quick question...

I just got my first rock chip this weekend in the driver's door. Went down to the primer coat, as I can see white. I called the dealer and they're sending me a bottle of touchup paint.

I won't be able to get to the chip until this weekend. Do I run the risk of doing any damage by allowing the chip to be exposed for about a week? Before I left my car, I drove in the snow w/ salt on the road, which is why I'm concerned.

Thanks!

You should be ok. Just make sure you wash the car before applying the touch paint.

Don't worry, I've had a chip on my door for 2 Chicago winters now, and nothing at all has happened.
