Roaring through a tunnel.

I was at the mall today and there a parking structure in the back w/ tunnels or whatever you wanna call them. Sorta like your driving in a building, i let the cl loose in the tunnel a few times w/ my friend, i told him to put all the windows down and listen. it was the sweetest sound in the world when i got into vtec, i cant even explain how it sounded in there, imma def get a clip w/ a digicam next time i go there!! soo many people were lookin as i passed by like wtf ,

I'm jealous - my AEM CAI should be on it's way soon, it'll be in my CL quite shortly after it arrives. I don't know if I'll be flooring it through tunnels and such, but for the open road a bit more audio feedback would be nice.

I used to drive an '84 944, and I learned to drive stick on it pretty much just by listening to the engine. The 6-speed CLS engine is so much quieter, that with the windows up and the radio on, it's much tougher to shift based on engine noise. It's certainly do-able without audio feedback, a quick glance at the tach solves any worries, but there's something fun about hearing the growl from the engine when you floor it... I can't wait!

CAI is also nice to scare the $HIT out of ppl on the streets. I usually just gun it sometimes and ppl on the sidewalks would get scared as hell

not at all...if ANYTHING, it helps INCREASE gas mileage b/c it reworks yer fuel mappings to allow more air and less fuel into the mixture

No and yes.

Intakes and headers actually improve MPG...but...you get so addicted to the power in the upper RPM band that any economy gain is instantly lost to a heavier right foot.

mine is all stock since it's only 10 days old. still, i think i'm addicted to the sound of the exhaust, especially when it hits 5k. so pure it's like music. i couldn't wait to see 1000 mi on odo so i could finally floor it. it felt better than sex.

Hmmm...VTEC sound is nice, but I'd still take sex any day (any hour, any minute...)

When i test drove the base CL last week it was really nice hitting the Vtec again. Been driving a Mazda for the past year and abase civic the year before. Can't wait till I pick up my CLS this week. The back with the dual chrome exhaust tips look wickedly mean!

6mt: You think it sounds sweet now??? Bite the bullet and buy an Injen CAI and Comptech exhaust. She sounds like a Formula 1 car now, a thing of beauty!

Injen Intake: $250, Comptech Mufflers: $600, The joy of having the best sounding car on the road: PRICELESS.......

Yeah, I guess if you have to do it in stages, I would get the Comptech springs and 18" wheels first, make sure you get good rubber though, like the Bridgstone Pole Position-S03's or Toyo Proxes T1'S.

But to each his own, do whatever makes you the happiest first, but just make sure you DO do it all......

Not at all. I usually get between 24-26 on average and 29.9 on trips (averaging 75-80).

can't agree with you more! had the same setup on my typeS but also w/ comptech headers.

I have to go under a major highway everyday to work and I would always roll the window down and gun it hehe also in tunnels. the Vtec growl is just simply amazing

I dunno, i heard some sound clips of the AEM and didn't like the sound it made. That's why i went with the Icebox... although i've yet to get mine from the GB...

I need an exhaust I can quickly bolt on and off or something so I can just toss the mufflers in the trunk when I want to drive with some noise.
