roadlamp/foglight disaster!!!!!

i'm trying to separate my lenses from the housing on my new roadlamps (BTW,thanks Greenmachine). I've searched the threads and found the baking in the oven at 300 degrees, but it didn't work. One dremel tool that has way too high rpm and a cracked housing later.....

does anyone suggest a certain time/higher temperature?

has anyone even attempted the roadlamps before, 'cause all I see is posts on headlamp separations.

oh no, that sucks

did you crack the front or rear? (You said housing ... I'm assuming rear.

I would have clamped it down and would have using a small drill bit to cut the rear of the housing out. A dremel vibrates to much, which probably cracked the housing.

Sorry to hear that.

You can also use a heat gun as well

don't try heat gun lol i ended up melting the lens before even melting the sealant. I think the sealant dry hard as glue so theres no way to soften it..... i have one extra cracked foglamp so if you guys think of something to do to remove it, i'll experiment it for you before you ruin yours....

I don't know if your car is the one in your avitar but I think it looks fine the way it is without roadlamps.

i'm trying to paint them to match my '03 headlight housings-but i don't think it's gonna work. I'll just mount the fogs in and be done with it. I had to order a new housing today from the local acura dealer for f-ing $56. my hella optilux projector fogs are coming in today so I should have pics of atleast one done tomorrow. I'll keep everyone posted.

You could tint them instead. That will take out the shinning look & blend into the bumper until on. Granted they will be even more useless though.
