Ripped quarter size tear in console covering...best way to fix??

Okay, okay so I shouldnt have been doing this but I buy a $30k car and am too cheap to get a bike rack and I was taking the mtn. bike in and out of the back seat (yeah I know it dont fit in trunk even w/wheels off) and I ripped the covering of the rear compartment thing...about size of a quarter. Anyone have experience with these "leather'vinyl repair kits ?? the ones with the heating tool and mixes for different colrs?? Thanks guys.

you talking about the middle console/armrest thing in the rear? when i was installing my comptech springs, taking out the back seat i ripped a nickel sized tear in the side of it...still hasn't been fixed. im not sure that there's a way to fix that other than replacing it?

If it's in the lid, I'd just replace the lid with a new one. Might not be cheap but it's a long term fix.

it is like $20 MSRP is $26.

Check here: http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/

70297 003 1 LID, RR. *YR169L* 26.66 20.47
70296 003 1 LID, RR. *NH167L* 26.66 20.47

Depending on the color, there are 2 parts

Is there a bike rack that will fit the CL? I thought the shape of the roof was too odd to accomodate one.

When you open your drivers door look at the color spec sticker by the seatbelt. I have ebony too but can't leave my office right now to go look

I just HAVE to take my bike with me when i go to college (who could pass up all the trails in the U.P.?), and fitting everything will be a little tough without my K2. I considered either the back seat or trunk thing, because a bike rack just doesn't seem right to me

Of course, If i win the WRX raffle today i won't worry about the bike issue anymore

Wow that's way cheaper than I thought it would be. I ripped mine during the Comptech spring install also.

You should consider a hitch rack system.

inexpensive, no added wind noise, quick set-up.

How easy is it to replace the rear seat storage compartment cover, I haven't had a chance to take a look. If it's only $20 I'm probably going to order a replacement too since I also have a small rip in mine.

Thule has one. I put it on my car when I need it.

Rod

Mine was ripped with one of those backpacks that has wheels. The replacement costed me 26 dollars right from the dealer. it was only a 15 minute job to take the old one and replaced. Just lift the lid and notice the screws undernead. Take those out and there is another set of crews for the hinge. very easy.
