RIPP VORTECH V-5 kit will become reality with YOUR help

THIS IS BIG NEWS
for all of you who have ever dreamed of having a vortech in your car this is for you!

For a month or so i have been looking into making a custom centrifugal supercharger work on my 01 cl. i called a few places to see if they could fabricate something similar to CT's jack shaft that would work for a vortech V-5 g trim i bought a few months ago. So i ended up calling RIPP modds out of new yourk to see if i could buy a shaft from one of their kits they already make. i got in touch with the owner(Ross) and we talked for a while. hes been looking into a kit for the j series motor and just recently posted a thread on their web site too see if there is a market for such a kit.

So the deal is, since developing a kit for a specific application can cost up to $18000 on their end after tuning and fabricating & everything. He told me he needs 10 guys to come up with a grand(1000 dollars) a piece to make this a reality. the way it works is once i get 10 guys who are ready to make the commitment to buy the kit he will send contracts out to the investors if you will. he says it will take anywhere from 6-8 weeks to get it ready to go with tuning and dyno testing. on the contract it will specify that you have put money toward the developmentof a product and he must have a product ready for you in no later than 90 days. for you first 10 guys the pricesound pretty good he told me on the phone 3300 or 2300 after the initial 1000 down. this is a complete kit from what he tells me with a brand new V-5 g trim supercharger all necessary brackets and the jack shaft of course. also 440 cc injectors a blow off valve. i know theres some other things i'm leaving out but if you go to their web site and look at all the other kits they have you will get the gist of what you will get

Ripp's web site is www.rippmods.com take a look this is FOR REAL!!!

Some of might alrady know this but this is the same company that vortech outsources many 3rd party applications to.

check it out http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/products/yourcar/

Ross also needs a car to do the work on but it will be in his possision for 2-3 months i figure i'll let them use mine but if anyone who is located on the east coast is intersted let me know.

if anyone has questions i will be more than welcome to answer them

my cell is 414-915-6061 and my name is MIKE MOKS

RIPP MODS 1-718-442-4723 (i dial ext 17 to get ahold of ross)

the retail cost will be around 4k-4.5k the first 10 guys get the same thing for 3300 and first dibbs on anything new he comes up with

Ross also talked about custom long tube headers too-be sure to look on his site for an example

SPREAD THE WORD!!EVERYONE!!! if you know of accord forums or anywhere else, hell, even oddyssey and pilot forums could use this kit

THANK YOU
MIKE MOKS

in all honesty since i bought my car i've never been interested in comptechs supercharger. i'm not knocking comptechs product in any way, but since i got a ride in my buddies 99 si with the 8psi vortech kit i knew what i wanted to do to my cl.

oh by the way there will be a 1 yr warranty and lifetime support included with the kit
eventually there will be a stage 2 and perhaps a stage 3??

The boosted CL-S' are limited by CR so anything past a "Stage 1" kit would require a total build-up of the engine to support more boost.

yea, i guess comptechs more for reliability more than performance when compared to vortech...does this mean it'll be more kick-ass than competechs sc? but of course daily drivability is also an big issue...hope the tranny will holdup...

Sounds interesting. So what is the expected final cost - $3,300 or $4,300?

i live in jersey and might be willing to give him my car to work on for 2-3 months, would have to be worth it though, and 315 whp sounds worth it. the car will be parked most of the summer to play with the other 2 new toys
i'll let you know this week

How did he arrive at those numbers? A centrifugal supercharger has never been applied to the J32A2 (to my, or anyone else on the forums knowledge). I'm also making the assumption that this guy has never tuned a J32A2 and would in essence be starting from scratch.

It took me 6.5-7psi on the Comptech kit to make 295 whp. You're saying the centrifugal system would make upwards of 30 more whp with 2-3psi less? Now the centrifugal design is more efficient... but i still wouldn't expect 320whp on 5psi of boost. Also, the boost response you get with the Comptech Eaton designed blower would be far less with a centrifugal design. Midrange power would be weak.

I'd be cool to see it happen, but i'd bet the farm it doesn't. Hell, we can't get 10 people to fork over the cash for a body kit... you think you're gonna get 10 people to throw down a grand on a completely new design SC kit? And in 90 days!?!
