Ride quality of comptech springs + sways

Okay so I've had my spring/sways since last year and it seems that now my ride has gotten more harsh, stiff.
For the first 3 months it was only slightly stiffer than stock but now I can really tell and everytime I hit a small bump or hole I feel like my car is getting f'ed. May be cause I have like 10000 squeaks/rattles I didn't fix again.

Can people w/ springs and sways answer. cause I know if you just have spring the ride quality isn't that bad.

May be I'm just on crack cause I just took a drove around in a cl-p.

mine are still smooth as hell. and i have only had them 3-4 months tho.

maybe check your tire pressure and make sure it's not pumped up too much.

i know when i finish AutoX'ing i forget to let out all the air, and its a rough ride till i do that

Might need new shocks, a firmer shock will actually be dampening more effectively for the lowering springs...will stop unnecessary vibrations after hitting a bump...

I'd have to agree that shocks will help with your ride quality issues, Nova. I'm picky like that too. I've only had mine on for a few months, but some of the roads in my daily driving area make it ride like sh!t. The interior rattles don't help the psyco-acoustic annoyance factor either.

I'm really of the mind set for Tokico's. Maybe Illumina's, if not, blues. They're priced right, and should help smooth out the oscillations I some times can't stand. I hate to say it, but if I had it to do over, I'd have went with H&R OE's for better ride quality. I actually ordered them 1st from Tim, but were on 3 week backorder at the time. Comptech's are a bit too low in the nose for me, but it does look killer from a distant front 3/4!!

Still contemplating an H&R OE set of fronts, with my existing Comptech rears. Anyone have this setup? I'd like to hear about it.

With winter here, I need to put the 16's back on. That helps soften things up a lot......

Jim

Comptech Sways only:

With 18" summer tires no noticable increase in stiffness of the ride. Or, let me say it like this, I don't mind.

With 16" winter, hanling went south big time. Ride Quality is bit softer. I am driving like a CLP, almost no VTEC nor the second satge of the intake for me save the couple times I am joing a HW right lane flyers...

So with the 18"s or stock wheel & tires, improved handling without a ride penalty ??

Worth the money?

Worth each cent IMHO.

Here iswhat happens:

Stock springs, stock tires add Comptech Sways... Big improvement in cornering ability and you would discover how squeally ( nosiy and losing grip) are the stock tires in hard cornering. No noticable harshness in ride quality.

Stock springs, 18" 235/40/18 ZR rated summer tires add Comptech Sways... Big improvement in cornering ability and you would stick like a glue in hard cornering . A minor harshness in ride quality due to low profile and stiffer sidewalls of the summer tires.

Stock springs, 16" 205/60/16 Q rated winter tires add Comptech Sways... Handling goes down the toilet. Ride is a bit softer due to the tall and narrow tires

Cnatra:
This is my current set up:

Comptech Sways with Factory Springs/Rims with Bridgestone S-03's - 225-45-17ZR's, the ride is like butta, the handling is MUCH better, like butta, do it, but DON'T do it with out NEW RuBBer ! If you just do the sways, you think your tires are squealing pig's ! NOT kidding, it's dangerous !

Okay I just drove through DC today and thought my car was gonna rip apart. Pot holes, uneven road, and man holes. ERR

Oh and another reason why i'm not upgrading tires is because its going to hurt the ride even more. Don't want my 30k+ luxury car feeling like a fooken go kart.
