Results from Englishtown

Nitrotiger ran a 14.686 BONE STOCK in a 2001 CLS. Air temp was 54 and humidity was like 45%. Scooter, Bigpoppa, Xenon7 and myself saw the time slips.

Scooter broke 15 seconds with a 14.9 run.

Xenon7 ran a 14.7.

BigPoppa ran hmmmm I forgot, sorry bro

Zapata ran a 14.8

I'll post the slips later. I'm very disappointed in my times. I belive my ECU is acting a bit funny and running WAY to lean because my power in the top end is suffering. You'll see when I post the slips. Low end is fine. I'm going to reset the ECU tonight and let the mayham in the roads begin tomorrow and monday

In the process of reseting the ECU I hoping that whatever the issue resolves itself with the reset.

Naw it was some guy in a HEAVILY modded OLDS(it wasn't a 442). Anyway, this guy burns out hardcore and then lines up. GREEN....his front end lifts off the ground and he pounds poor scooter into the ground.

I was actually going to surprise you guys last night by showing up, but something came up Thursday night that changed my plans for Friday.

I had it all programmed into my NAVI. (82-Miles from home)

I promise, I WILL get there one of these nights.

Yeah that's Nitrotiger. I still can't believe he's running that fast.

Yeah, i ran a 14.6 w/ an intake and stock tires last time i went so you see how pissed i am. I reprogramed last night and then tore up the Roads for bit. However, I used SS I didn't realize until after the fact. Although the car still needs to learn the shifting i would think the fuel mappings are a bit on the agressive side no?

Hmmmm.....

So you're saying that the fastest run of the day was by a STOCK CL?

I wonder how much these little mods (intake, exhaust etc) are helping/hurting you guys.

Any other stock CLs running in the 14.60 or 14.70's that day?

Now that I think about, forget the times..... What was the MPH of the car that ran the 14.6?

Any of the modded cars have a similar MPH?

We all know that MPH is more of an indication of HP than the ET.

That's the thing. There has NEVER been a stock CLS that ran 14.6. I saw Nitrotigers engine bay. STOCK. NO headers, no CAI etc., He's an honest guy. I know he used to run civics that ran into the 11's so he has nothing to prove. He's previous best was 14.7 stock.

I reset the ECU last night and ran the car HARD for about 20 mins or so. Alot of WOT from stand stills or 5mph roll. I went out on the highway and did runs up to 110. I have my drive to work tomorrow so i'll vary the RPMS and lean towards WOT at the high end.

I'm going to call the dyno guy tomorrow and see what kinda $ he charges, scheduling and then try and organize a group. Before I schedule anything I'll see what fits everybody's schedule.

Okay, so if Nitrotiger's 14.6 run was within 1 MPH of you other guys, then I'd say you're all making nearly the same power. Maybe he's just shifting a bit better than the rest?

Or was he letting the trans shift itself?

Good points Tom,

I have noticed that mods don't seem to be helping this car that much at the track. Numbers don't lie that's for sure. Time for someone to break out the NOS bottle so we can cheer over some gains

I still have my concerns in regards to the "leaness" of the fuel in Zapata's car. He mentioned to me that his MPG was increased and Nitro and I noticed that there were no signs of "black tipping" on the new exhaust after running it for about 2weeks or so. I figure that might effect his times

xenon,
rest the ECU last night. Ran the car VERY HARD for abot 20 miles. I will run the car hard tomorrow on the way to work as well. I might head up to englishtown on Sat. Nitrotiger says there is a battle of the imports that's good. At the least i'll be able to get some practice in
