i tried searching all i could get were HID upgrades, but havent answered my question. so since we already have HID/xenon lamps, cant we just get higher kelvin bulbs and throw em onto our car? from our stock 4000k or 4300k, to a 6000k? i dont know much about car lighting so i dont know if thats good or bad to do that.

yes you can, but you will loose some light output the higher you go.

This thread is great timing. I was going to ask today. Cool!

yes, but you will be loosing light output only to gain ricer color bulbs. i dont really see the benefit.

Hold up.....

Your not buying any "kits"

The CL has HID's stock. All you are replacing is the HID bulb. Nothing else. It takes a DS2 bulb.

You can buy this bulb in the stock 4300K color which is the normal HID color & light output.(& the best)
You can also buy other HID DS2 bulbs that are rated a high color temp. Like 6K or 8K. These will give the light more blue color, but will take away some of the brightness. A lot of the brightness if you go 8K & higher.

They don't. People buy the KAIXEN HID kits if they want HID's for their fog lights. They buy D2C bulbs to replace their stock HID's.

KAIXEN is also another great name to add to the reputable HID bulbs and kits.

coz from what i know D2R is for mirror housing? and D2S is for projector, so D2R would be for ours, correct? D2C is universal?

Actually the cl is d2r. Although according to akinaboy (ebay screen name) you can buy modded d2s bulbs so they will fit in your d2r housing. I actually just emailed him about that because I might just get the modded d2s bulbs. By the way Excelerate- I went onto your webpage and I couldnt view any of your products? If things dont go well with this guy on ebay I may buy the ones you carry. Since I cant view your page, could you tell me how much 2 bulbs cost in 6k and if the pcice is different 4300k?

Thanks,

Justin

You want D2R for the CL replacement bulbs. If you look on the outside of the headlight housing I believe it even says it on there

he sells them for $50 but they have 800 hours on them. He also sells modded d2s bulbs that work in a d2r housing for $65 and there new.

^ no problems. Just less light output as said above...

On a side note, My one Ballast went out so i bought a set of ballasts off of a BMW and only used the one to make the one other headlight work. With that "kit" (for which i got at at steel paying only $89) I got a set of D2S bulbs. I comared them to the D2R's that i pulled from my CL and the only difference is that the D2S bulbs have a notch in a different spot. I took my dremel and dremeled the D2R notch into the D2S bulb and they fit great. The difference between the two is not that noticible. With the D2S bulbs, there are just some random lines that were not there with the original D2R bulbs.

Wow, I just realised that i have 3 sets of bulbs with one of them being in my CL...

Justin here is the link for the KAIXEN pricing:

https://acurazine.com/forums/sponsored-sales-group-buys-10/kaixen-hid-kit-groupbuy-330409/

I haven't populated the website yet fully with items.

And D2C will fit D2R and D2S. D2S is for projectors. D2R is for non projector housings which the CL has.
