Replicating G35 Engine Noise/Rev
Well here is the story.
My buddy has a G35. We went driving and I gotta say I really love the engine noise/rev that the car makes. I was wondering if I can replicate that somehow without replacing my exhaust. He told me to try an intake but I am as clueless in modding as one gets. Some suggestions of what I can do and specific part that can get it done?
Note: Thank you to everyone who offers their opinions.

You can replace the headers without replacing the factory exaust....that'll give you a sound closer to the G35 but its never going to sound excactly the same.

Record the sound of a G35 and burn it to a CD. Then drive around with it playing loudly with your windows down.
This thread is ridiculous.
Like one person already said if you put headers on you are going to get a slightly lower tone to the exhaust note but you aren't going to get as rapsy of a sound. Also, I think the J-32 sounds great all over the rev-band.

unlike most of your friends here i dont think this thread is rediculous..i love the sound of the G35 and it's fairly simple to get close ..it has nothing to do with headers.and will cost you about 55$ ...you'll remove your lower resontaor/air box from just in front of the drivers side wheel...see install instructions for installing an ICEBOX at the comptechusa.com site...then install a K&N drop in air filter...your car will sound alot like the G at large throttle openings and as quiet as can be at idle and cruise...as it gets colder out side this sound will be exaggerated...oh and you'll get about an extra 10 hp

Dude
At least he's not tryin to replicate the sound of an enzo or w/e, but i do admit, that the VQ set up sounds oh so nice, the CL should've came with at least a bit of a note.
