Replacing HID Bulbs - D2R vs. D2S

I currently have 12000K HID's in my headlights and they're D2S bulbs I believe. The lighting isn't an issue even though most people seem to think the 12000K is completely blinding, etc. But what I'm thinking about doing is replacing them with some more OEM looking bulbs, something like 6000K. But I was thinking about doing D2R instead of D2S, because from what I have read the D2R doesn't have the reflector shield in the bulb. The D2R might be slightly more glarey, but apparently it looks much better from a distance from what I have been told.

Can anyone confirm this? Thanks!

You need either an adapter, or you can cut a little tab off the bulb to fit. There's an Ebay seller that sells them. You can search for the posts.

ds2's are made for projectors so u need to do some modding to get them to work/fit.

If they fit without any problem, then you got the modified ones... If I remember correctly, the modified D2S's are called D2C...

look on ebay..

So let me get this straight, the D2S will fit in our headlights? Because I'm trying to decide between 6000K D2R and D2S. Thanks!

D2R is the stock bulb type. D2S is made for projector headlights.

To tell the truth, I got D2S's with my BMW Ballasts that I bought on ebay and after modifying them and putting them in, the light pattern was not that much different from the stock D2R. Yea, there was a line on the wall that was not there before but it didnt produce too much glare...

But then again, this was at 20, 10, 5 and 3 feet away from the wall so I dunno. I didnt drive with them in but will do that soon...
