Remote Starters

So I've had my Compustar 2W-FM remote starter alarm system for about a month now... and it is really cool, but the 1/4 mile range is kinda pitiful. You can't get around buildings, and it is kinda haphazard when there are obstructions in the way. I was wondering if people had similar experiences, or if the 1.25 mile range starters are consistently better, or if you know of any new systems/brands that you would recommend.

Thanks and have a great day... even if it is monday!

just out of curiosity, how do you know if you started your car?

Does the remote control have a little signal that tells you the engine has started?

I'm just wondering because I can't see my car from my Apt window, but it's really close.

I know the Clifford alarm w/remote start has an LCD remote that shows a picture of exhaust coming out of the tail pipe when it's running.

Yeah Compustar does the same thing. You just press the button, it beeps... you wait a couple of seconds and if the car started (sometimes doesn't start in extreme cold - but I'll get that fixed soon), and it beeps again and on the LCD display smoke comes out of the exhaust... pretty cool really.
