Question Remote start

Is there anyway to get a remote start kit if you have a starquard chip without getting rid of the chip?

?
There's a bypass modual that gets installed with a programmed but uncut key, or a bypass harness that bypasses the chip on some cars.

transponder
you program the code of the key once and it sends it when remote starting, so the immobiliser thinks a right coded key is in the ignition.

downside : easier for thiefs to take your car since they can make the transponder trig to send the code.

Not true.
Several alarm manufacturers do make systems that will auto start safely a manual car. They included a set of safeguards to be followed or the car will not start. Like having the parking brake on & the car in N.

The crap you hear about it not being safe is from people not installing them with the right safeguards & then you hear the bad stories of what happens.

most people install only remote starters without an alarm system.

i know well how it goes, i repair them after recovery. the last MDX i repaired even had a gps locating system but they managed to take it anyway.

here in Montreal and suburbs, it's the north american capital of stolen vehicules. (not saying this as a joke, it's a sad fact), they take your car and park it anywhere in the big city for 1 day to see if there's a gps locating system on it and then go back the next day to get it.

it's a sad thing for owners, but it gives us more work at the dealership
