Reminder to Comptech IceBox Owners

While removing my air filter from the IceBox today for cleaning I noticed that the horn on the bottom of the IceBox (which gives the IceBox the "cold air intake" effect) had detached itself from the rest of the IceBox. Check to make sure the hose clamp is tight!

yup that thing was hard to put on too... i kept tightening it and then testing it and seems no matter how hard i tightened it it would pop loose... finally just put a ton of elbow grease into it and it has not budged.... Would'nt you hear it rattling around?

You didn't get any of that elbow grease on the car did you?

Mine came loose once. If it had come off again, I would have used a couple stainless steel screws to keep it on.

I remember posting a thread about this a while ago. I think mine is unattached, just too lazy to put it back on. My filter needs a cleaning so there's my motivation. lol

happened to me too, it was just clunking around, good thing it didn't fall out of the car. i tightened it to hell w/ a wratchet.

also i notice my 90 degree from my filter to the straight pipe was not attached properly anymore. the design is kind of weird if you ask me.

It works though. It's very close to OEM with the exception of the filter size and the horn at the bottom of the filter box.

would rather a straight pipe w/ no reasonator, but that doesn't have anything to do with the performance of the product. i also plan to swap in these, i think their much more stable than the current ones comptech sent:
