remember the static rattle from the dash?

i think i found the source..however, i can't fix the damn thing.

okay. its the glove box locking unit. to illustrate, try driving for a while normally. then open the glove box and drive for a while. i did this and the static was gone...the car felt so good and solid for once.

i had the dealer look at it and they tightened the screws. it worked for half an hour. i tried fixing it myself by opening her up but couldn't figure out how to remove the glove box. the good news is i think the insulation around the unit is not working properly. i think it needs to be replaced.

hope this helps at all
can someone show me how to remove the glove box....thanks

note: you might want to check the fusebox to the right side of the glovebox (inbetween dash & door)

That fuse box is causing rattles for a whole lotta people and it sounds like it comes from the glove box.

You're right. It's the damn glove box. I am speculating too that it's probably the locking unit that is making that damn noise. It sounds like it's coming from inside the dash but if you leave the box open, the noise is gone.

Anyone know how to fix this? I dunno what to do either.
