red rocket adieu

I sold my 2001 CL-S to Carmax for 13000. It had 45,000 miles and was in good shape. Carmax beat the dealer trade-in by 1000. I bought a 2006 Accord 6 speed EX V-6 for about 1000 under invoice. I miss the rocket but she was started to wear although gracefully. The Accord is very comparable but lacks a few luxury items although its interior ia well-done for the price especially with the discounts on that car. It was about 6000 cheaper than a new TL and I couldn't see that big a difference although I could easily see and feel see the difference between a 2001 CL-S and the 2001 Accord V-6 coupe when I bough the rocket. see you down the highway!!

You have my condolences

Accord EX V6 6mt is the closest thing available to a CLS 6spd, so I think you've bought a nice replacement for you CLS... Sounds like they are starting to deal on the 2006 models w/ the 07's around the corner... It's probably not a bad time to buy.

Seems like you got a decent price on your car from carmax... You'd probably have a tough time getting much more for it from a private party

Sounds like Carmax treated you pretty well on the CL. Good luck with the Accord.

I like how they changed the 06 Accord coupe rear with an edge on the trunk and taillights, and the integrated 3rd brake light is nice, all things I wish the CL had. Before the Accord had a super rounded butt like the CL does.

OOPS - looks like you probably got a sedan, you don't really say. Not sure if you got an automatic or 6 speed either, I don;t know the exact Accord lines.

N0 Nav in the CL or the new Accord.
Got the following add-ons: mudflaps-daynight compass rear view mirror--wheel locks--subtle striping
I paid 24,550--w/o the extras descibed above I guess I paid right about 24100 for the EX V-6 6 speed coupe. Lists for 27,950 w/o accessories. With accessories it was almost 29,000. So I'm satisfied. Some Accords are going for less though. That Carmax deal was blind luck as I was just killing time for an hour
before trading my car at the Honda dealer.

BTW, the wheels on the Honda are the same as the 2001 CL-S wheels with an "H" instaed of an "A" so I have something to remind me of the redrocket . Also, not a scratch or gouge on them YET> I'm going to try to be more careful with the curbs this time.
