unless you have serious money, time, and no someone that has done it, i'd say DONT do it. it will end up being a completely custom job that will take forever! if you have the patience, the money, and just want to be different, then i guess go for it. but if your not truly passionate about it you should just be looking for a faster rwd car that you can finance and throw a supercharger/turbo on it(unless it already has one)or just keep it fwd and s/c/turbo it. if you were to do this, do you have another car that you could take to work and what not? because you would need one. this is just my :two cents: i think you would even have to change/customize your floor board to suit the placement of the new tranny. SOUNDS BIG!

Yes, but then we have to turn the steering wheel around to.

At this car show I went to, I saw a car with TWO steering wheels. The car looks like two front halves of a car attached together. This way, you can have a FWD and a RWD. I was trying to find a pic of it, but no luck.

if i were u TheMike, i'd either get a rwd car or just be happy with the fwd. the cost just far exceeds the benefits. sure fwd might not perform as well as a rwd car, but realistically how much power are u looking to make anyway? most likely the most power u'll make at the wheels will be around 300-350...which is a perfectly streetable number for a fwd car. unless u have the money and nothing else to spend it on, i wouldn't do this modification.

Now the next question: how would a rear-wheel drive car with a 60/40 weight balance drive?

It'd be a ton closer to 50/50, but not nearly there. Currently it's 63/37, and the change will easily be >3%.

Putting a rear end, tube frame, and rotating the engine 90 degrees, would probably change the weight bias.

Buying a "body in white" (just the shell) from Acura (can you do that??) and sending it to a race car fabricator for a full tube frame would probably be the most cost effective route.

Or, if you want to keep it in the H/A family, get a S2000 or used NSX.

Are you kidding? The CL woulda probably sold 2x as many units and it wouldn't have been discontinued if it were a 260hp (when it came out so was the M3) RWD coupe with Nav for under 33k... where you'd have to spend atleast 7-8k more for a slower 330Ci.

We'd launch faster, turn better (and have better weight distribution), and holy shit would our cars be more fun to drive if the J32 was mated to a RWD drivetrain. I love the CL already, but to imagine it in RWD form just makes me reach for a box of Kleenex.

lol, I think you read my statment wrong...it's so hard to portary how you're saying something on the internet. What I meant was "So....if our cars were RWD, would it be any faster? Or would it just handle better and take off out of the hole better?"
