rear muffler delete sucks:(
So, i have already deleted the mid muffler, and i have had a bad leak around my rear mufflers but they were so rusty i couldnt get them off, sooo, i cut it off right before the y-pipe starts. i had to rig a hanger for now, but the moral of the story is that it sounds like shit! All the guys on here that said it was loud but exotic sounding was waaaaaaay off. it sounds like an old jeep with bad exhaust or something. Hopefully i can get it fixed soon. maybe i'll get sound clips for laughs

so is it bad sounding from the mid-muffler delete? cause the leaking exhaust can make the loud obnoxious sound.
people have posted about the mid-muffer delete and the majority of them has said it doesnt sound good. i specifically remember one saying it sounds like folgers cans.

i remember when i took off my rear mufflers, but my mid-muffler was where it suppose to be be, the car sounded exotic, really nice, i took it for a spin, and could really feel some power, lol
but i never heard a car without both mufflers and a mid-muffler...

Worst idea of my life I could only live with it for like 3 days before having the exhaust shop put some glasspacks on in place of the stock mufflers.

well mufflers i think you gotta have. but i think the OP is talking about the single mid-muffler. at a time i heard that removing it will make you exhaust a little louder and coupled with headers and/or high flowing cat will produce a G35-like sound.
but others have said that after they removed the mid-muffler, it sounds like crap. i was contemplating it for a little while but decided not to do it because i did not want to pay to make my car sound like crap. i rather save my money and know exactly how its going to sound.

actually mine sounds a lot like the videos. do you guys think it sounds good? i gotta admit, when vtec kicks in its pretty sick but at low speeds its annoying. maybe ill do a single all the way to like a buddy club or apexi and see how that is

This is my TL with no mid mufflers/resonators. I have the comptech mufflers on, BUT i have pipe slid thru them to eliminate the baffles so its straight thru. (Basically straight pipes)

Sounded awesome, but the resonance was bad. I wish the revlimiter wouldn't kick in at 5k because it really sounded sweet between that and redline, especially while just cruising along at high rpm

well, after driving for a few days it actually sounds better some how? anyways, i think i am gonna run a y pipe from the single without mufflers and my stock tips...sounds crrrazy at higher rpms. 3rd gear is the best for sure though. its loud and deep, and resonance is bad only at 2k-3.5k rpms....

I will be deleting my mufflers tomorrow, and adding 3 1/2" resonater monza tips that will bolt on to the stock Y pipe.rest of exhaust is stock.trying to make a choice on headers.Let ya know how mine sounds when finished.

::smacks head:: the reason it sounds bad is cuz you had that "leak" and took off the actual mufflers too!! lol
geeze, its only called a "mid-muffler delete option" not a "run straight pipes from cat-back option" lol

I got the rear mufflers deleted put 2 1/4 pipe off the rear Y pipe and put 3 1/2" resonated monza tips. Car sounds awesome.smooth deep sound at low rpm's and get a little raspy at high rpm's,but nothing annoying.car sounds like it has turbo.I will put a pick up soon. And a video so everyone can see deleting the mufflers Dont sond like crap if you use the right tips.

if by exotic you mean a Camaro... then yes.

idk, but i'm using tanabe cat-back exhaust w/ deleted intake resonator & deleted exhaust resonator..luv how my car sounds...some folks here have heard my car & it's not even that loud at idle...but when i "punch" it & goes to vtec zone...sounds even better!!!
