When I bought my car a few months ago, the plastic clip on the lid of the rear console was broken off so it would not latch down securely. I had them replace it and then never had a problem until now. I locked the console before and it opened fine. But recently when I go unlock it, it will not unlock. It turns, but won't budge when I pull on the clip. I wonder if weight (someone sitting on it) would cause this or if there was always a problem to begin with since the clip was broken when I bought the car (like someone had the same problem, and could only break it open).

Please let me know what part I should replace. If it be the keyhole latch, does the dealership need to do it to match my key?

THat happened to mine too. Actually mine wouldn't release my key, i tugged so hard i pulled out the key cylinder=)

but acura fixed it under warranty.
